Pre-season bets for the 2017-2018 Premier League

Just a couple of days until the new season kicks off so I thought I would give you my pre-season bets.

The money is down on who I think will win the Premiership. I thought the 15/8 Man City was a licence to print money and said to Ron he should fill his boots.

They have fire power to burn with one of Aguero or Jesus up front, De Bruyne, Sterling and Silva in midfield and I’m sure with the purchase of Walker from Spurs they’ll go 3 at the back and that will free up De Bruyne who will notch double figures this season.

You know that like Ron I’m a Liverpool supporter but I have had to bet they will finish out of the top 4. They have made a right mess so far, of the transfer window and not really strengthened much.

We had no European football last season and just clung on to that 4th and our squad just isn’t good enough. The 10/11 was just to good to ignore.

On a more positive Liverpool punt I have bet that Firminho will be our top scorer. In the pre-season games he has been taking the penalties instead of Milner and the 9/2 Bet365 have up looks way out. William Hill make him 9/4 favourite and I’d say that’s more like it.

With Utd signing Matic I reckon we’ll see Pogba playing further forward this season and I can easily see him scoring 10 or more goals so I have snapped up a it of the 7/2 that he does that.

I’m going to do as Ron suggested and post up what he calls “sighters” so you can see how I get on before I start betting on football. I usually give it at least three games before I set up as match fitness comes during that period and we miss the early season weird results.

MY BETS

MAN CITY TO WON THE LEAGUE – 5 POINTS @ 15/8
LIVERPOOL NOT TO FINISH IN THE TOP FOUR – 2 POINTS @ 10/11
FIRMINO TO BE LIVERPOOL TOP SCORER THIS SEASON – 2 POINTS @ 9/2
POGBA TO SCORE 10 OR MORE GOALS THIS SEASON – 2 POINTS @ 7/2

Good luck

Tony

  1. Im already on Man City but then I was last season and that was a disaster doh.

I think Liverpool’s problem will be lack of goals since Lallana and Sturridge are both injured so out of top 4 looks a nice bet.

I like Mane as Liverpool top scorer but 7/4 is too short.
