I’m having a ball right now. Following that pair of top rated winners yesterday afternoon I sat and waited for that last race at Sandown, nailed my dutch and came within a neck of another very nice Exacta, CSF.
The figures are simply rampant right now!
Today is Karen’s birthday so as you can imagine, it’s her day!
I was considering having the day off as we are going to take advantage of the sunshine, go to Erdig with the dogs, take a long, long walk through the grounds there, grab a cuppa and a piece of cake, and then hit the Red Fox on our way home, for a nice dinner….they allow us to have the dogs in there….great place.
We have four meetings today, two this evening but below you have just a race each from the afternoon fixtures.
I looked at the racing this evening and it’s all low Class racing but what I will do is have a look through those races once this has gone out and if anything looks a play, I’ll let you know before we leave.
TODAYS RATINGS AND ADVICE
GOODWOOD 2-35 – CLASS 4
PRECEIVED DRAW BIAS: L-M-H
* – PASTORAL PLAYER….+11
§* – ARLECHINO’S LEAP….+9
* – WAR WHISPER….+8
* – MAJESTIC MOON….+8
§* – GOOD LUCK CHARM….+3
§ – NOBLE PEACE….+1
§* – HANDYTALK….-12
* – FOX TROTTER….-15
§* – RUSSIAN SOUL….-15
* – PHILBA….-19
H* – LACAN….-30
NOTES: A good draw here is worth diamonds. High drawn runners are on a hiding to nothing and I’d not be at all surprised to see one or two with a double figure draw to break from, kept at home.
My top rated is right on the cusp of low….6….and I’d cut that off at 5 for the purposes of highlighting the draw bias with the § icon.
WAR WHISPER has 13 and, despite being a course winner….I like those here….Tom Marquand will need a hefty chunk of luck to win from there.
MAJESTIC MOON has been thumped on the last few times he has raced here….or anywhere for that matter and so I’m looking at rated horses 1, 2 and 5 for my dutch/exotics.
ARLECCHINO’S LEAP gets my 20/80. Won this race last year by a whisker from GOOD LUCK CHARM and I’m hoping to be enjoying a bout of Deja Vu around 2-40!
Both are hold up horses and so will need to get the gaps so the good draw both have might look a hinderance but they pulled it off last year and hopefully will do so agin.
HAYDOCK 2-20 – CLASS 5
H – SATISH….-15
* – BAHAMIAN C….-17
* – SAXO JACK….-35
* – NO WIN NO FEE….-35
T – CAPTAIN COURAGEOUS….-40
T – THERTHAAR….-40
T – ESTRELLA ERIA….-40
NOTES: A little naff, this one. It’s catching my imagination…not. Perhaps David O’Meara’s SATISH, in first time headgear might improve on his 0-10 record to date….but then, he might not.
I’ll not be leaving a play set up on this one!
