As I detailed in the morning Newsletter, the weather is very much a cause for concern and so with that in mind, and knowing that already 14 non-runners have come through at Newbury since I finalised my figures this morning, seven at Newmarket and six more at York, I’m simply not going to be betting at any of those three tracks.
I know I’ll have plenty of time to punt over the next five months, without trying to guess what will, and what will not, go on the ground.
We will have all heard plenty of trainers in post race interviews saying to the person holding the mic that it came as a bit of a surprise they had won their race on the ground they had. If they do not know, we have no chance.
I had intended posting a play of FORMIDABLE KITT in the York 2-20 but that was withdrawn earlier this morning on account of the ground, which has now gone predominantly soft again.
I’m going to simply concentrate my efforts on the evening meeting at Hamilton and all updates and figures will be out in a Newsletter by 4-00pm.
