By the sire FASTNET ROCK, whose progeny invariably start to blossom in their 3-y-o season, I’m expecting her to win races this term and prove she deserves top spot.
CASHLA BAY is the name. She is trained by John Gosden and has an entry in the 1000Gns.
She made her debut on the 14th of October last year and ran home second to EARTHA KITT at Haydock (who had enjoyed the benefit of a previous run at the same track), beaten less than a length, with nearly three lengths back to the third placed horse.
Gosden then ran her two weeks later at Newmarket on the 29th of the month and despite what I’d suggest was a bad draw she landed the odds of 8/11 by an easy length.
She was the first of the high drawn horses home that day, the next three all middle to low and I think that race will prove a pretty decent back end maiden.
The third horse home, ASHWAQ, ran once more and finished second to a Clive Cox debutante, PAVILLION. Hannon then put that one away before sending it to Kempton on the 20th of March where she duly obliged.
Definitely in the right hands and almost certain to improve a heck of a lot being a FASTNET ROCK, she’s the first you need in your trackers.
