Aintree Special Ratings – day 2

It’s nothing like as intense, profiling the Aintree racing. Cheltenham is a week of blood, sweat and tears by comparison.

Last year was the first year I had provided profiling for this meeting primarily because of my fear that horses were turning up half shattered following a long season and most unlikely to produce their best form. We did very well last year though, hence my doing it again this year.

You will see Cheltenham form turned on it’s head at times simply because it’s a completely different test, on different ground, just three weeks after they’d been sent out 100% ripe for a race.

I’ve never trained one but I imagine it must be difficult to get one ready for another shot at a big pot, in such a short space of time and i’m sure the Irish horse that were successful, or ran well at Cheltenham will be more likely to reproduce those runs at Punchestown in another two weeks.

Today Mullins and Rub are here, for just one ride. Getting his eye in for tomorrow, no doubt, because his mount has very little chance of success.

I’m thinking next year we’ll run this “Special” a little differently.

TODAY’S RACING

You have five rated races below but I have added no text to any of them.

On the website, around 10-30am, you’ll find a preview of the rest of the Leicester card and that taking place at Sedgefield. Hopefully a little more to read than yesterday!

The three rated races from Leicester are merely “sighters” that we’ll use to keep an eye on how the figures are performing in the run up to the new season starting in earnest. Right now trainers will be sending out their scouting parties, looking to see just how fit their horses are.

We will be able to spot those that are pot hunting early doors and make a bit of profit from that in the Preview section of the website but ,as for taking my work literally in April, that’s not recommended. I myself certainly will not be betting a bean on rated races until May arrives and Gary’s micro-systems run May – September for a good reason.

Last season we did see the figures in April producing good results and as I mentioned back then, if you feel comfortable using them to bolster whatever work you do at your end, be my guest.

The big day tomorrow and once my work goes out this evening for the Grand National and supporting cast, I’ll be able to put my feet up for a few hours and relax.

Can you please make a note that I’ll not be producing any work on April 18th. I cannot tell you why right now as I’m still a little confused about what’s happening myself and am awaiting confirmation of an appointment. As soon as this thing is confirmed, I’ll tell you all about it.
