The first race on the second day and it looks the best of the novice races to me. The one thing you will take away from this is the name of a horse to work with next season….you’ll not get rich off the back of it but it will be winning races right enough.
In the last few years horses like THE NEW ONE, SIMONSIG and FAUGHEEN have won the Neptune and last years winner, YORKHILL, is most likely going to win again at this years Festival, if he gets round!
If you have an ante-post voucher for NEON WOLF you should be praying for rain because I’m thinking that if it is no worse than good to soft, they’ll take him out. He is a staying ‘chaser in the making and they believe he’s a superstar, too so they’ll not ruin him this year by running him on the wrong ground.
Post Racing members knew about FINIAN’S OSCAR before he tapped foot on a racecourse and he has proven the rumour mill spot on.
My feeling is he needs better ground to show his best so choosing between that pair is going to be down to the weather.
The Irish lads have enjoyed taking this prize home for the last three years running and have won six of the last 10 runnings of the race. Last time I looked Mullins still had 21 in this but the best looks to be Bacardys. He won the Grade 1 Deloitte last month and did so in the style of one that’s going to enjoy stepping up in trip, whilst the runner up that day, Bunk Off Early is considered better than Melon at home and will enjoy the two miles of the Supreme on the Tuesday.
Bacardys has the option of the Albert Bartlett but I cannot see this one being out of the three is he lines up here.
Profiling this is going to be an absolute pleasure!
