I mentioned recently the name of one I have in mind for the 2020 Grand National. CHAMPERS ON ICE.
He reminds me so much of COMPLY OR DIE in that he’s going to stay forever but just lacks that gear to beat the best over hurdles.
His form over the smaller obstacles is superb. Only three defeats today, the first two over a trip short enough for him but beaten only by SHANTOU VILLAGE and YANWORTH.
On his final appearance last term he ran a blinder behind UNOWHATIMEANHARRY at the Festival, and I believe he’s now being aimed at the World Hurdle in the colours of JP McManus this season.
CHAMPERS ON ICE is going over the larger obstacles and as with COMPLY OR DIE, I’d be happy taking an ante-post price now for the RSA next march.
He may find one has that turn of foot to beat him, as TRABOLGAN did to COMPLY OR DIE a good few years back now, but not many will outstay him, if any.
Two of the list have run this season already, NO COMMENT, who was unseated rider on seasonal debut, and DEATH DUTY, who absolutely sluiced up on yesterday at Roscommon.
Unfortunately I was so busy over the weekend I missed it myself, although we can afford to let odds on shots go.

Best of luck across the season with these.
