Aintree Preview 23/10/16

Ron RobinsonI am not even considering looking at Wincanton for bets, lays or anything else today as they have the word “firm” in their going description and for exactly the same reason as I swerve summer jumping, I’ll be swerving that lot this afternoon.

Just let it happen.

Aintree, on the other hand, is simply brilliant racing.

I have provided two rated races, which have gone out to my 500 Club, Site members and Weekend Club and as we also have 20 To Follow horses running in the 1-40pm and 5-00pm, below we have what is left for previewing.

I do not get involved in Novelty races so the veterans’ race at 2-45pm will not even be on my screens.

2-10 – DOWNLOAD THE APP AT 188BET CONDITIONAL JOCKEYS´ HANDICAP HURDLE (CLASS 3) (4yo+ 0-125) Winner £6,256 14 runners 3m149y Good

Current trainer form, which is important at this time of year, suggests the horse we should be concentrating on are:

ANOTHER FRONTIER
SCOOP THE POT
ONE COOL SCORPION
KERROW
GLOBALISATION

All are representing yards having a strike rate in excess of 20% right now.

Two jockeys in here, Jamie Bargary and Jonathan Moore, are riding seriously well, a 30% and 24% strike rate respectively and they ride horses contained within that list above:

ANOTHER FRONTIER
GLOBALISATION

The second named is 1-3 on the ground and 1-1 at Aintree and in a race I’d only punt if I were on course with a pint of Guinness in my hand, GLOBALISATION would be a speculative 20/80.

It is a “no play” race for me personally.

4-25 – MOLSON COORS INTERACTIVE CHASE (A NOVICES´ LIMITED HANDICAP) (CLASS 3) (4yo+ 0-125) Winner £8,123 9 runners 3m210y Good

Working a race such as this, from any angle, is pretty futile to be honest as none has ever raced here before and it’s a track that can see horses being taken right off their feet. One question leads to another and it’s turning into a riddle, the more I look at it.

The only runner in here having won on both the ground as currently described and over this trip, is PAWN STAR.

A winner of two of his last three starts and not yet out of the first three in steeplechases, his credentials are the best on show.

But then we have a McCain trained runner, what happens now, who has won three ‘chases on the bounce and is 2-3 on the ground. Never yet tried this trip, nor track. How will he go this afternoon?

If I am relying on guesswork regarding opponents, to provide you with a bet, then that would be irresponsible of me and I’ll not do it.

Let’s just keep the profits made from this section dry and look towards adding to them tomorrow.

Have a great day

Ron
