Today’s Ratings and Advice 19/08/16

Ron RobinsonA decent enough day yesterday but we have an issue now that leaves me rubbing my chin.

When is that rain going to hit York today?

It is forecast to bucket down almost everywhere today and my producing work for you based on the current going descriptions might prove totally futile.

I’ve checked the BHA website to see just what the tracks themselves have advised is going to happen and York are suggesting it’s going to hit them at lunchtime and stay with them right through the afternoon. If that’s the case then i’ll not be betting there.

Salisbury don’t have any races for me to rate, which is probably just as well. They are advising as much as 10mm could hit them during the afternoon and if that’s the case they see a large number of withdrawals and it’s not a meeting i’d be betting at.

Sandown advise they are already being hit and could have up to 6mm with more overnight into tomorrow.

Obviously this means it’s prudent to sit on your hands and wait to see just what damage is done before looking for horses that handle whatever they have underfoot….right now it’s total guesswork.

Below I have posted up my two rated races and those figurative been produced on the understanding it’s good to firm and York further advise they resisted watering last night because they know what’s coming.

Unfortunate but nothing we can do about it I’m afraid.

Might be worth looking for a price now about MECCA’S ANGEL for the Nunthorpe because she most likely will not turn out if those rains don’t arrive in time but if they do, she’ll shorten in the betting pretty sharpish.
