Premier League Review for 28/11/15

Tony DavidsonI’m going to start doing things a bit different from now on. I will look at each game and let you know what I am thinking and why.

You know me well enough by now to know I don’t like betting on those games that have a team that played away in Europe during the week before but for the life of me I do not understand why Spurs are 6/4 to beat Chelsea on Sunday.

The home side are the in form team in the league at the moment and thats surely to big.

Don’t know about you but I was sitting there watching Palace on Monday wondering what has happened to them since they got a result at Anfield but its just sort of the way this whole season has gone. Every weekend we are getting a result or 2 that just do not make any sense.

ASTON VILLA V WATFORD

I’m looking at the odds set aside each game right now and see Villa are favourites to beat Watford? How can this be? Villa are bottom of the league based only on home games and they have not managed a home win so far this season.

In a league based on away form Watford are 13th, won 2, drew 2 and lost 2. Scored 8, conceded 8.

Villa have conceded 17 goals at home and scored only seven.

PREDICTION: AWAY WIN

BOURNEMOUTH V EVERTON

Odds against Everton are playing really well at the minute and poor old Bournemouth are sinking. The lack of a goalscorer is the problem for the home team but Everton have no such problems. Lukaku and Barkley on their game right now and with the confidence they have right now I honestly feel the away win is again the way to go.

PREDICTION: AWAY WIN

CRYSTAL PALACE V NEWCASTLE

If the real Palace turn up then they will win but I would not bet on it. Not again I wouldn’t.

PREDICTION: No clue what will happen.

MANCHESTER CITY V SOUTHAMPTON

With City having played away in Europe I’m not going any further with this game.

PREDICTION: It will be a home, away or draw.

SUNDERLAND V STOKE

I doubt Stoke will be as generous as Palace where and they seem rock solid at the back right now. Butland is playing as well as any goalie in the league. They have conceded no goals in their last three games against Newcastle, Chelsea and Southampton, two of those games away from home and a 1-0 away win seems the most likely result because the away side do not find scoring a bag full easy either.

PREDICTION: AWAY WIN

LEICESTER V MAN UTD

Utd have concentrated on not conceding and it’s made them pretty dull. I guess if you are winning games nobody cares, except old players?

They have only let in one goal in their last 6 games and that was a penalty.

I think they will win here tomorrow because the home side do concede goals and 12 in their last 8 games does confirm that.

PREDICTION: AWAY WIN

MY SATURDAY BETS

WATFORD TO WIN AT VILLA – 1 POINT
EVERTON TO WIN AT BOURNEMOUTH – 1 POINT
STOKE TO WIN AT SUNDERLAND – 1 POINT
MAN UTD TO WIN AT LEICESTER – 1 POINT

Tomorrow I will look at the Sunday games and let you know if I can bring myself to have some of the 6/4 Spurs.

Good luck

Tony

  1. Your certainly doing things different……..not posting any tips or anything !! Even if not advising an actual tip, couldn’t you at least post what you think will happen as you did for this post?
Although you may not be betting, some of us still are and it would be nice to know someone (You) else agrees with our opinions or not, even if not strong enough for you to bet yourself?

  2. Hi Scooby. I’ll ask Tony to get back on this but from my conversations with him he’s simply not up for guessing. Very much like myself in that regard because it’s peoples money we are dealing with.

He is a tad infuriating at times as he looks at things in black and white and I know already what he’s going to say to me.

One of the things he keeps referring to is the Pick3 competition asking how nay have managed to find three correct results this season. You know the answer to that!

He’s expecting things to start settling down this month and has told me he’ll most likely look at the next couple of weekends and if he’s happy, he’ll start work again.

As I say, I’ll ask him to post a reply and hopefully he’ll get on tonight.

    • Thanks Ron,
Like i said, i’m not asking him to post his thoughts as tips, just his thoughts or gut feelings if you like.He can always state although he suspects a certain result hes not confident enough to actually put money on it. Basically, keeping in touch with us would be good even if not actually posting a tip.
The pick 3 results are probably a poor gauge as its a free to play comp & i’m sure some of us are posting a few picks purely on a guess or team loyalty, maybe even a few based on nothing more than a dislike of a team?
When you talk to him please tell him i said to pull his head out of the sand !! and i wish him a happy new year!! 🙂
