I’m confused….not difficult. The ground was officially declared good at Pontefract before racing, with temperatures set up to dry it a bit. So, I’m reading the race write up for the first of my rated races yesterday and that suggests it was soft?
The words used are, “…and that enabled HEADLINE NEWS to pounce under conditions that suit her”….”the winner ideal likes conditions on the soft side”….soft?
Connections of the winner are quoted as saying, “conditions today suited her”.
Her profile is that of one that does prefer a bit of dig.
However, we then saw that one I mentioned in my notes for the second rated race, BE LUCKY, who profile was very much one that needed it to dry out a bit, win his race.
Officially it had dried out a bit, good, good to firm in places and that horse winning would support that so I’m thinking they had hair driers on it from 3-00pm onwards!
I enjoyed my day with family yesterday and I’d say we earned our dinner with that 90 minute walk through the Wirral forests!
Back to work today though and this morning I’ll be responding to e-mails received whilst I was away from my office yesterday.

NOTES: I have a good feeling about OUR BOY JACK but just one win on this kind of ground, from 21 attempts, one win at this trip from 14 pops at it and one win from 10 previous visits to Thirsk, you have to think stats are against!
I’ll work with my top three, again to small stakes and we’ll see if the numbers come up trumps.

NOTES: My top rated is the only runner here with the three ticks….in the dutch and, as also well drawn, gets the 20/80. Its a poor race despite numbers and i’ll trust the figures and icons to drag a few bits of profit….rated horses 1, 2 and 4….dutch, that 20/80 and exotics.
