Today’s Ratings and Advice 09/07/15

Ron RobinsonI’m going to have to separate my Newsletters again. Afternoon figures below….evening figures to follow.

The next couple of days will be completely manic. We will have racing coming out of our ears and the best advice will be….be selective.

If you try to punt every single race between now and the end of racing on Saturday, you’ll bust yer banks.

The figures are performing very well and when we are sporting a draw bias, it is generally paying to work with it. The first race at Bath yesterday was evidence of that. The first three home were in my top five rated and all carried the § icon, indicating best drawn. When you are looking for races to get involved in, look to those carrying as many icons as possible to help with your selection processes.

I am absolute delighted with how well Tippedtolose is performing. Those that have registered to that service are in clover right now and the feedback is brilliant.

I’m not one for coincidence bets but how certain was it that Greek Islands would win that Bath 8-10 last night? It was not a race I’d be playing or laying in but that one beat my top rated, Bold Cross, a short head. Finishing second was a fate four of my top rated suffered yesterday but that’s a positive for me personally.

TODAY

The start of the July meeting at Newmarket and I have been asked to look at all races here. I have done so but actually came away thinking most of these races are for watching and note taking only.

Take the first race there today.

A race in excess of 12 furlongs for 3-y-o’s. None has ever attempted that trip and it would be 100% guesswork. We then have a juvenile race which has me wondering where to start. Has EXPERTO CREDE improved or regressed for his debut? I know they think a lot of SHALAA at Gosden’s place but ELRONAQ isn’t exactly disliked at home either. Guesswork.

I think MAHSOOB will be hard to beat at 3-15 but we GOSPEL CHOIR, who has won seven of the12 races it has competed in. I would have to go with the younger horse.

The 3-45….I like AWESOME POWER. The winner is most likely in the front three on the tissue but this one, who has won two of his three to date, was very impressive at Sandown last time up.

I’ve posted up MARENKO in the OF INTEREST section here. Before the season started it was thought he’d be a decent one for this time year…but I have no idea if he’ll actually do it on a racecourse.

LUMIERE comes from a yard that has been ripping it up with juveniles this term and the market will let us know what is expected.

The winner should come from one of BOSSY GUEST or ESTIDHKAAR. I would run with the Channon horse.

The last race has been rated and I’m happy with my numbers.
