Today’s Ratings and Advice 16/04/15

Ron RobinsonI received a couple of e-mails yesterday regarding the fact Blue Buttons is racing today and asking how we expect her to run.

Unfortunately our association with Harry Fry ended last weekend, as we now look to sort out a horse or two for the flat season. We were unlucky to have not a lot happening during February/March due to Harry having a bug in his yard but his are now coming right and he’ll be looking to get runs into them before the season finishes “proper”.

I will be contacting 500 Club members directly to advise how we will be working this summer, tomorrow morning.

I have e-mailed the yard to wish them good luck and I’m sure you will follow the horses we were involved in with great interest.

We again had an outstanding result with that Beverley race yesterday. I didn’t bet (to be honest with you I had nearly has much pleasure from seeing that race pan out as I thought it would), and seeing the figures again come up trumps really is getting me thinking back to the summer of 2013. Can we equal or better the +370 points of those five months? We’ll give it a shot.

TODAY

More very interesting racing at Newmarket and after some of those results we witnessed yesterday, we are well advised to watch only, and not even consider parting with cash.

We also have Ripon and a couple from there that are rated, the figures below. I don’t have the same feeling about them as i did for that Beverley race yesterday but doubtless they be informative.

One of our members requested Cheltenham figures for the two days as he was attending. I sent out three yesterday that proved to be very good and so, having prepped them last night and completed them this morning, you also have them below.

If anyone is going racing during the summer and requires figures for those jumps meetings, please give me at least 48 hours notice and I will be happy to oblige.

20 TO FOLLOW

I sent out the second of the 20 to follow last night but for those that may have missed it:

“The name of the second horse that should go into your trackers as one of this seasons 20 to follow.

It is September/October time that I start looking for horses that will qualify for this section of the website and this one made it’s debut on the 26th of September in what now looks a red hot Newmarket maiden.

He ran second to the horse I have already nominated as being a live 2000Gns outsider, CONSORT.

I think this horse could be even better than that winner.

HATHAL went off a very well backed second favourite on the day and came from off the pace with a really strong finish but the winner had gone.

The strength of that race has already been detailed in that previous posting but to give you some idea as to how good it is, the horse that went off favourite that day, and finished eighth, has won twice and is now has an official rating of 100

I have no doubts whatsoever this horse will win races this term and you need to get it in those tracker”

TIPPEDTOLOSE

The logo has now been sorted….

On Monday, May 4th I will commence this new service and will be advising of subscription fees etc, once the website is completed.

It’s over at www.tippedtolose.co.uk

I’ll be working on the website over the next 10 days and will have in place what will be needed by the time we go live.

MY BREAK!

I have had just one week off since October 2013 and I am in need of a break. Karen has booked off the last week of April and we intend going away….Friday, 24th April to Friday, 1st May.

During that week I will produce no ratings but will have an evening Newsletter going out containing the names of the final seven of my 20 to follow.

I will also be making sure I have chilled a bit the week before (I have found previously that it takes at least a week to clear my head), so my figures each day will be going out mid morning week commencing 20th April. I will not be getting up at 4-50am that week!

I get back in time to get right stuck in to Guineas weekend and that’s when my season starts…May1st – September 30th.

I am anticipating a stunning summer, if this month to date is anything at all to go by.

NOTES: My top rated horse is an all weather specialist but the one win on turf came here. Only four runs on turf to date it’s impossible to say what suits best but four runs on grass have yielded a win and a place. Track and trip look good for SAN CASSIANO, six wins from 29 attempts over 10 furlongs and a 20% strike rate at Ripon. Ruth Carr has started the season brilliantly and those winning after a first run are plenty.

The interesting one is FLOW. He won over this CD last May, for Lady Cecil, beating SAN CASSIANO and he ran a cracker on seasonal debut when finishing 6th in the Spring Mile, finishing off well over the shorter trip, on slightly quicker ground. He has won or placed on 50% of his turf runs and on slightly slower, over slightly further, I’d anticipate a big run.

This is the better race of the two rated here today and hopefully the numbers will perform.
