Today’s Ratings and Advice 23/03/15

Ron RobinsonMy mantra has always been, give me the ground, I will give you the winners and the last four days have been a perfect example of this.

There will be many that adhere to the saying that a good horse will win on anything. That might well be true but, how many “good” horses do we deal with on a daily basis?

The fact is “good” horses are very, very thin on the ground and in addition to the winter throwing up so many last minute going changes and, changes in the going as racing during the day progresses, it’s often difficult extracting a profit.

However, take a look at the performance of the Ratings in the last four days:

35% strike rate, 36 points profit in the last four days, playing just the top rated horses.

There is no coincidence that the improving conditions are having a good effect on what is being provided to the members each day!

This only tells half the story though.

Five of those top rated came home 2nd @ 20/1, 10/1, 13/2, 6/1 and 3/1

That means 50% of all top rated horses have finished 1st or 2nd over the last four days.

For the first time in a while I felt confident of posting up the Post Racing Double today:

MISTER WISEMAN – WON 8/1 > 10/3
UNTIL WINNING – WON 7/4 > 11/8

Those figures are outstanding and yesterday was off the scale.

To say I am looking forward to the new flat racing season would be understatement personified. Give me a dry summer and I’m very positive that we’ll see another like that we enjoyed in 2013….and that was ridiculously successful.

I was so close to posting up Mister Wiseman as the first bet of the day in what seems like years! Some of you latched on to that and got the 8/1 early doors about that 10/3 winner and with the first e.w. double posted up in yonks also going in, the day has been officially filed in the “cracker” folder.

TODAY

Two meetings at Towcester and Taunton, six rated races and again, hopefully, we enjoy another good day.

I have to prepare for my meeting on Wednesday that will determine the start date of the Sensory Garden. I will have the framework of the website that will work for them in terms of fund raising and something that has now been over a year on the NHS back burners will be having the heat turned up.

I have already agreed to do a 15 mile fund raising walk and I will be looking to do more myself.

If anyone reading wants to do something then I will have a section on the website relating to fund raising ideas….some will be your usual basic things and some will be off the wall.

The intention is to have a lot of fun with this whilst keeping a very strong focus on the reason it is being done.
