Today’s Ratings 05/02/15

Ron RobinsonWe have racing again today and I am hoping Huntingdon passes an inspection because three of our four rated races comes from that track.

To be fair, I think we’ve pretty much got away with it this winter. Compare it to what happened last season and this has been a picnic.

TODAY

I’m afraid we still very much appear to be having an issue with the website. My suggestion is that you give it a wide berth until we send out a Newsletter advising all is well again. I will of course keep you updated.

Just to put you minds at rest, we do not store any details about any member on our sites and this hack appears to be designed more to disrupt than anything else. It has, for instance, disabled our ability to update the sections of the website that inform you of such things as the racing weather.

Some people out there really do need to find something more constructive to do.

It means I will be up to my eyes in it trying to get this resolved and that’s probably what whoever did this intended.

DUNNS RIVER

Surprise, surprise….they split the race and we go. We do have a couple of members going and I’m sure they’ll have a cracking good day out. I think it very much caught John off guard. He only threw his hat into the ring on the “off chance” and it’s his first time going racing as an owner.

John, it’s a blast, sir. Enjoy!

What of our chances? Well, I doubt it takes Einstein to work out that Harry is still looking to see how best to work with him and handicaps will beckon at some point. That being the case I would personally suggest no more than a loyalty bet, if you must get involved.

I would be expecting ALL YOURS to prove tough to beat in our race….but that’s like telling you snow is white and cold.

HUNTINGDON 1-55

CAPARD KING….+4
* – MINELLA BLISS….-3
NORDIC NYMPH….-14
GIVEITACHANCE….-18
* – IMPERIAL VIC….-25
EL INDIO….-33
FLEMI TWO TOES….-40
H – FLEMENSBAY….-40
ZAKATAL….-40

MY PLAY – Rated horse 1, 2 and 5 get a good old dutching, the 20/80 goes the way of MINELLA BLISS and I’ll look at those exotics, too.

HUNTINGDON 2-25

* – PARTY ROCK….+16
T* – DAVERON….+11
* – MIDNIGHT APPEAL….+11
* – HARRISTOWN….+11
T* – ONE FOR HARRY….+9
* – DUBAWI ISLAND….+8
FORTHEFUNOFIT….+4
* – WILY FOX….-9
T – NATHANS PRIDE….-13

MY PLAY – Top three for me. Dutch, a 20/80 PARTY ROCK and exotics.

HUNTINGDON 4-10

* – TROJAN SUN….+10
* – MR MUDDLE….+9
* – BERTENBAR….-8
DYNAMIC IDOL….-14
VENT NIVERNAIS….-17
T* – FREE WORLD….-25
ULTIMATUM DU ROY….-26
CARHUE….-34
T – ARD AGUS FADA….-40

MY PLAY – I’m still thinking my top rated here will run a big race and I’ll be setting up a dutch, going straight win TROJAN SUN and setting up exotics. I’ll have to watch that going like a hawk though because a frost coming out of it turns it very gluey and you’d much rather it was rain falling!

TAUNTON 4-50

* – OLYMPIAN BOY….+18
* – BALLYEGAN….+13
RIVERSBRIDGE….+8
* – GILZEAN….-9
* – CLOUDS OF MIST….-11
BOHER LAD….-21
PAY YOUR WAY….-24
THE GEEGEEZ GEEGEE….-25
FOLLOW THE TRACKS….-31
BEAUJOLAIS BOB….-38
DAZZLING RITA….-40
EXMOOR CHALLENGE….-40

MY PLAY – The one that is doing a little more than winking at me is RIVERSBRIDGE. Only three runs on the board, now making handicap debut, this horse has been beaten a total of 171 lengths on it’s three starts to date. Each time it has raced it has gone off a bigger price each time – 12/1, 20/1, 50/1 – (obviously because the layers knew what was occurring), but the beast improved on it’s previous placing on each run – 8th, 7th 5th – I expect it to be competitive today. If it handles the ground it may very well be the winner but, I’ll know at the same time as you.

I’ll be keeping stakes minimal because of this one and it’s rated horses 1, 2 and 4 to October Rules.

Best of luck if you get involved

Kindest regards

Ron
