Tisfreetodream had, in 2009, finished just 12 lengths off Big Bucks and whilst that great horse went on to much bigger things after that cheltenham Handicap, he’s surely living proof that a good old one will always beat an average younger one!
His handler, Peter Pritchard said after the race, “I had open heart surgery back in November and not many runners because of that but this old horse, despite his own problems with his back, still trains like a 130 horse and can do it on the day”
Whether or not he’s up for it next time or not is a mute point. We were all taking a profit off that race yesterday, and that’s what counts!
