Today’s Ratings and Advice 14/01/15

Ron RobinsonI am not sure whether or not you watched any of the racing from Fakenham yesterday but let’s just say, the official going description I worked with, good to soft, soft in places, was a million miles away from the reality of it all.

On the front cover of today’s Racing Post they have a picture of Richard Johnson and that tells you all you need to know about how bad it was there.

They finally declared “soft all over”, after the 2-40 race but, to my eyes, it was heavy if not worse at that time.

They then declared heavy all over after they had let the 3-15 finish.

The rains duly arrived and it’s going to start getting tricky out there, make no mistake.

Forewarned is forearmed though and you can make decisions whether or not to bet well in advance and preserve your profits. Right now I am not betting. I’ll miss winners but, I’ll miss more losers until Hurricane Rachel has come through, done her bit and left again.

I was going to take a holiday in February to get back refreshed for Cheltenham but I have now decided I’ll not do that. I’ll go off for one week towards the end of April and again for one week in October.

This is going to be a transitional year for Post Racing and today you’ll get an e-mail from me outlining my ambitions. It means the least time I’m away, the more I’ll get done and I’m happy with that.

Last night I was working on a couple of things until around 10-30pm and posted up the Cheltenham Bumper ante-post play i’m interested in. You’ll see from the text I’ve done a bit of research on the race (the last 22 to be honest!), and noted a few stats that make the suggested play very interesting. Currently a double figure price, too.

TODAY

Lot’s to do. Prepping for the podcast, which is now available for Android phone users to “subscribe” to via an app produced by Player FM, which is free to download.

This feature of what we do is going to get better, and better….it’s good now!

I’ve to prepare promotional text for a company wishing to help us through our affiliate, I have to contact someone regarding the JustGiving page for the Clatterbridge project, prep tomorrow’s figures, and tomorrow will be here in the blink of an eye.

It was funny last night. I was responding to a text from Sean, who was returning from a meeting in London, at 8-20pm and mentioned to him that I realised I would be back at my desk in 8 hours and 40 minutes….remarking that I must be mad. It really is a good job I do love what I’m doing!

PODCAST

You have until noon tomorrow to enter this competition.

This weeks Podcast question was:

In 1925 bookmakers at Windsor went on strike. What were they striking over?

Know the answer?

If so, please e-mail us contact@postracing.net
