Supreme Novices’ Hurdle 04/01/15

Ron RobinsonMy apologies for this going up later than I thought it would but no damage will have been done to any ante-post prices (I hope!).

This is the curtain raiser for the whole of the Festival and it’s always nice to get off to a good start. No doubt the profiling you receive the day before kick-off will reveal the name of the winner(again, I hope!).

A few days back (it was actually King George Day), I had mentioned in my newsletter that Paul Townend had a real live chance of a short priced treble, as Ruby was riding over here. Two dipped but the one I’ve opted to post up here as my idea of the winner of this race, did very much what was expected and I honestly believe JP McManus has a little cracker on his hands in the shape of ALVISIO VILLE.

Going off 1/2 on debut for Willie Mullins, he was always cantering through the race, went 2nd going to two out and taking it up just before jumping the last, he sauntered just over five lengths clear.

I was seriously impressed and believe he’s as good as any two mile novice hurdler I’ve seen this season. He’s currently trading around the 10/1 mark and that’s fine with me.
