Ron RobinsonSix of the last 10 runnings have gone to horses in the age bracket 7-8 and so the initial shortlist consists of those born in the right era!

We have eliminated four of the nine runners and can now look at the weight range that is favoured by the statistical information to hand

Very quickly down to three but that’s not surprising given we only had nine to play with at the outset.

I’m looking at the tissue for my next set of clues and note that in the last 10 years only one favourite has named to pull this off. They have run well enough to warrant inclusion in Placepots, five of the last nine that completed hitting the frame but if I’m accepting the fact that the favourite is less likely than likely, to win this, then we have to rule out the jolly at this stage.

Gone is the Mullins runner. I’m of a mind that coming here on seasonal debut and trying to win is also something of a no-no….only one of the last five has pulled that off and irrespective of the fact this stable is nigh on unbeatable right now, everything that matters points you away from it.

So, which of the last pair should we concentrate on?

The winner of five of the last eight were in the front three on the morning tissue and right now they the prices I have in front of me indicate that the hobbs runner is the one we should go with, being that is priced up around 5/1 and Loose Chips is a big double figure price.
