Not sure what the weather did in your area yesterday but it rained cats and dogs here for the majority of it and, it was cold with it.
Winter is very much on its way and I am so looking forward to it.
Last season I missed the bulk of the NH season because I was tucked up in a hospital bed and I intend enjoying this season to the full, to make up for it.
Whilst I have been going through my notes etc and looking back through the sales that have taken place, looking at who has bought what, I’ve certainly felt the buzz again. I am seriously hoping that Sprinter Sacre returns to his best because that horse was a superb jumper of a fence two seasons back and if he does, the QM crown will be returned to the rightful owner.
Today’s racing is anything but Cheltenham class but it looks competitive enough and one or two do look “interesting”. I’ll still avoid punting at all costs and if some of those results we witnessed yesterday do not convince you that flat racing is not to be swerved, nothing will. The first four results were stunners and I imagine the layers were giving impressions of Michael Flatley a good go before punters were lulled in a false sense of security with a flurry of short priced favourites going in, before those long shots returned to wipe them out again.
Changing weather, changing ground, and a change of codes and most definitely the month of the funky result.
THE GOAL POSTS
As a 500 Club or Site Member, you have access 100% free (for the year 2014-2015), to the work of Tony Davidson and Garry Pritchard over at our sister website, The Goal Posts.
If you are not utilising it, you are missing out big time.
Tony is a personal friend of mine that agreed to work with me on this part of my project and on Sunday provided our members with the following:
“WEST HAM V QPR
Until last weekend, when I saw Burnley completely fall apart having conceded their first goal since the opening day of the season, I had not seen a worse team than QPR. Rio Ferdinand has gone there for his final pay day and is being shown up for the player he now is. One time, a long time back, he was brilliant but, if you cannot run or jump from a standing position, you are no use as a centre back.
In 3 games away from home this season in the Premier League they have conceded 10 and scored just one. They could not even get a goal at Burton Albion in the League Cup.
They will be without Joey Barton who, whilst a complete nutcase, can play football and gets stuck in. It just smacks of a seriously good hiding for Harry’s team.
Big Sam will doubtless be looking for another 3 points to ensure mid table security by Christmas. Having beaten my team Liverpool easily in their last home game this should be a piece of cake. That was their first home win in 3 having lost their other 2 so don’t get me wrong, they are not brilliant themselves but QPR are shocking on the road so far this season and West Ham should have got at least a point at Old Trafford last weekend.
In 5 of their last 6 games the Hammers have scored in the opening 45 minutes and it’s clear they try to get it won handy. Sakho has scored in 4 of their last 5 games, including at Old Trafford and is their main goal threat. Those stats look worth playing up.
I think the 19/20 offered about the home win is worth looking at, as are one or two other bets.
My bets here will be:
WEST HAM TO BE WINNING HT/FT – 1 point – 2/1 (Hills) – WON
WEST HAM TO WIN 2-0 – .05 POINT – 8/1 (Hills) – WON
SAKHO TO SCORE AND WEST HAM TO WIN – 1 POINT – 3/1 (Hills) – WON
