Today’s Ratings and Advice 28/09/14

Ron RobinsonDespite not actually finding the winner of the Cambridgeshire I would like to point how how delighted I was with the profiling.

I got my penultimate shortlist down to:

CORNROW
VELOX – DH 2ND 8/1
BRONZE ANGEL – WON 14/1
EXTREMITY
NICEOFYOUTOTELLME – DH 2ND 10/1

Now that’s not bad! Had I been more inclined to have those older horses onside, rather than look to have the high draw onside, I would have had a feast of this race. To have it down to just five runners and get that close is serially pleasing, especially when you consider I was working with a 35 runner race.

I was bang on that you did not want a single figure draw here. The first six home were all housed in a stall with two numbers above their heads. The weight range…bang on….the first three home carried between 8st 11lb and 8st 13lb.

Had I pulled the older horses instead of those drawn high, I would have been left with BRONZE ANGEL and NICEOFYOUTOTELLME…..both 5 year olds. Such is life.

I will get it right next year…notes have been made!

MY PLAY – This is the only race today I personally am interested in playing. Rated horses 1, 2 and 4 will do and they’ll be dutched, it’s a 20/80 my top one and exotics.

Just Monday and Tuesday left of the flat for me then we switch codes. I will, however, be looking at those jumpers tomorrow and Tuesday, too, as one of our long standing 500 Club members is going racing both days and I have promised to provide figures….not that I’d even contemplate trusting them yet!

The very best of luck if you get involved today,

Kindest regards

Ron
