Today’s Ratings and Advice 21/09/14

Ron RobinsonTime to draw breathe as we have just one meeting at Hamilton, which offers up a couple of very competitive races.

Today I will start contacting current 500 Club members individually regarding the coming Club year and advising them of our plans, once we know yours. Several have already been in touch to advise how they would like to make their subscriptions, charities they would like to support etc and thank you for that.

Tomorrow I will have in front of me the plan for the Sensory Garden I want building at Clatterbridge Hospital and the costings involved. I’ll them put a few plans in place to raise funding locally plus one which is going to be a very long term thing that will involve having a website built for them.

More on that later.

HAMILTON 4-20

T – RAAMZ….+11
* – TECTONIC….+11
* – REMEMBER ROCKY….+10
T* – LORD FRANKLIN….+8
T – OUTBACKER….+8
* – NEUF DES COUERS….-7
T – POLAR FOREST….-16

MY PLAY – I have had TECTONIC “right” all season and if all I had done for you for the last five months was advise when to back and lay this one, we would have all been in absolute clover.

It is a little cracker of a race but with a Mark Johnston 3-y-o within three spots of the top I’m “wary”. The huge negative for OUTBACKER though is the fact the horse has achieved just one placing from six runs on turf.

I will work with TECTONIC and REMEMBER ROCKY, fully aware that my third best has a rock solid attitude towards racing whilst TECTONIC will try to dodge it.

TWO TO DUTCH – TECTONIC, REMEMBER ROCKY
20/80 – TECTONIC
EXOTIC – TECTONIC, REMEMBER ROCKY
LAY – NONE

HAMILTON 5-20

* – MANDY LAYLA….+15
T§* – INGENTI….+13
§ – HERE NOW AND WHY….+9
T* – BOSUN BREESE….+9
* – RUTTERKIN….+6
T§* – CAPTAIN SCOOBY….+4
T* – LIZZY’S DREAM….-8
T* – SLIM CHANCE….-10
T – RYLEE MOOCH….-17
T§ – ECONOMIC CRISIS….-23

MY PLAY – I am hoping the top rated is the winner here for the purposes of the review currently taking place, as that is how they are measuring the Ratings. I’ve not yet received a second update…may not get one until they finish on September 30th…but hopefully this one adds to those profits.

She is 2-2 at hamilton, the first time on good to firm but, that came in 2012 and since then the form figures for all races run on good to firm read 3/11, 8/12, 4/7, 9/12 and 4/6….but, she is 2-2 here and it could be she just loves the place.

My second highest rated has only run once at Hamilton, over five furlongs, when the ground was riding good to firm…and she won. With my having spotted up a draw bias and INGENTI being slightly better drawn, I’ll have her as my solo play.

I will be using that pair with CAPTAIN SCOOBY, who has proven a right old dog at times this season…pun intended.

THREE TO DUTCH – MANDY LAYLA, INGENTI, CAPTAIN SCOOBY
20/80 – INGENTI
EXOTICS – MANDY LAYLA, INGENTI, BOSUN BREESE
LAY – NONE

The very best of luck if you get involved today,

Kindest regards

Ron
