Today’s Ratings and Advice 04/09/14

Yesterday another example of what gives racing a bad name occurred at Southwell. I will do another piece for the website offering my thoughts on what happened and it won’t be supportive of it!

Yesterday i put up my ideas on how to fix horse racing, which is nothing to do with what happened yesterday, it just so happens I posted that up on the website at the same time that happened.

If you would like to read my thoughts on how racing could best make it better for all concerned it’s on the home page of the website.

TODAY

I’m off to Clatterbridge Rehabilitation Centre to meet up with a garden designer and the girls there who first mentioned to me that a Sensory Garden would be something they desperately need to help in the healing process of those unfortunate enough to have been in a similar (or worse), situation to that I was in from December last year.

I will get this built for them. It’s not a question of if but when. Once we have had a costing done we then get to work on making it happen. I will make sure every resident go Merseyside and wirral knows what is happening and the local radio stations are already “onside”, just waiting for me to fire the starting pistol.

I’ll keep you all bang up to speed on developments.

On the racing side it’s all quietening down now. However, Post Racing is currently undergoing a review until 30th September and so I’ll be making doubly sure everything you receive by way of Ratings etc is spot on.

The Review commenced 25th August and things have gone exceptionally well.

We only have three Rated races to work with again this afternoon but hopefully we’ll turn a profit.

PODCAST

I will be back at my desk to produce our first Podcast since Nelson asked Hardy for a snog. We have a new IT guy on board, John, who is as unfamiliar as i was with the process of producing the pods cast and getting it up on iTunes, the website etc so, we’ll do everything we can to have it in place for you to listen to today/tomorrow.

If for any reason it does not go live, I will make sure the nitty gritty is on the website and in a Newsletter!

HAYDOCK 2-30

T – HALA HALA….-40
SET THE TREND….-40
GOLD STORM….-40
WOODY BAY….-40

MY PLAY – I will keep this one simple. With three in my top four having won previously on the going as described when I first started working on this race, I’ll just dutch ’em, got 20/80 my top rate and set up exotics, if the prices permit.

HAYDOCK 4-40

* – SIRVINO….+10
MISTER FIZZ….+8
T – HEADLINE NEWS….+3
* – LATENIGHTREQUEST….+3
T* – KIKONGA….-2

T – LADY TYNE….-23
T* – PILGRIMS REST….-25
T – KINGS BAYONET….-34
T – BANTAM….-38
T – WARRIOR OF LIGHT….-40

MY PLAY – 10 of these are responsible for a chunk of diesel having been used but with over £14k to the winner, I’m not surprised! The trip is the strange thing, not many races run over 11 furlongs and that adds to the conundrum. My top one has ground right and actually won over this trip at Hamilton recently and he’s in my dutch with LATENIGHTREQUEST and KIKONGA, the last named you may remember being part of the 20 to follow list last summer, who produced two wins and a second placing from six runs. Luca Cumani has obviously put this one away for an Autumn campaign which starts today and the form of it’s second has been given a bit of a boost by the winner coming out and doing the same thing again.
MISTER FIZZ is very interesting. He’s 2-2 at Haydock, is 3-11 over this weird trip, but I’m thinking he’d need it to rain and slow it down even more.

THREE TO DUTCH – SIRVINO, LATENIGHTREQUEST, KIKONGA
20/80 – KIKONGA
EXOTICS – SIRVINO, LATENIGHTREQUEST, KIKONGA
LAY – NONE

SALISBURY 4-50

* – REMEMBER….+8
* – TIGHT FIT….-5
* – SAUCY MINX….-14
T* – DUTCH COURAGE….-15
MUSICORA….-19
T – FELWAH….-21
T – ROYAL SEAL….-31
JILLNEXTDOOR….-31

MY PLAY – I will just have a small 20/80 my top rated as this is choc full of three year olds that probably have scope for further improvement….Felwah being the perfect example.

The very best of luck if you get involved today,

Kindest regards

Ron
