Today’s Ratings and Advice 19/08/14

I’m blaming the summer holidays. No sooner than the kids come out of school, autumn arrives!

It’s heavy rain where I am right now but having checked the weather for the three tracks I have worked on today it’s only Yarmouth looks in for an early soaking, sunshine from around 2-00pm….what that rain will do to conditions is anyones guess though and it’s prudent to watch a race or two before getting involved.

The figures yesterday were superb. My own decision making a little off but I’m thinking we lost the ground at Thirsk to some degree.

We are now looking at visiting a trainer down south with a view to setting up a Jury Syndicate down there. Tomorrow I will be speaking to Sean Trivass, who will manage that syndicate and we’ll put in place a plan. Watch this space!

I received an e-mail yesterday from a 500 Club member who is interested in the idea put forward by another member, that being we find 20 people who would each like to put £500 into a 1/12th share. If this idea is of interest to you then please let me know and we’ll see if we cannot get that sorted out.

* – STONECRABSTOMORROW….-9
CAPTAIN RYAN….-16
FROSTED OFF….-22
ENCAPSULATED….-33
T – ZAFRAAJ….-40
SPIDER BAY….-40

MY PLAY – I am hoping the winner is in my top pair and that it’s PERFECT PASTIME. That will carry my own 20/80 and I’ll dutch that couple to hopefully cover the cost.

BRIGHTON 4-15

T* – ARLECHINNO….+15
* – WHINGING WILLIE….+9
* – DALAKI….+/-0
* – ZAEEM….-4
SIXTIES LOVE….-8

BRIGHTON 5-15

* – FAIRY MIST….+10
* – JONTLEMAN….+7
T* – FOR SHIA AND LULA….-5
* – HAWK MOTH….-5
* – HEIRARCH….-7
SLEIPNER….-13
* – BUXTON….-20
* – PERFECT MISSION….-27

MY PLAY – Ditto….Brighton and Yarmouth provide racing on a consistent basis that is not consistent and if you punt horses there you have the added problem of it being mainly bad horses running regularly, providing a series of results that you come to expect but not predict. It would not surprise me one jot if the only horse in here not having won previously on the going as currently described, scoots in.

YARMOUTH 3-00

* – NIFTY KIER….+1
* – VAINGLORY….-2
T* – HYDRANT….-9
ELA GOOG LA MOU….-18
T* – FRONTLINE PHANTOM….-25
MISHRIF….-27
PATRIOTIC….-28

MY PLAY – Top pair to October Rules. This is not going to be a big betting day by any means.

YARMOUTH 4-00

T* – SLEEPY BLUE OCEAN….+11
* – AUTUMNS BLUSH….+9
* – VODKA CHASER….-2
* – AMOSITE….-4
INDIAN TINKER….-9
T – ALPHA DELTA WHISKY….-12
UBETTERBEGOOD….-16
IT MUST BE FAITH….-19

MY PLAY – I am quite happy working with my top two rated to pennies. Dutch, 20/80 my top one and exotics.

YARMOUTH 4-30

GLANELY….+13
T* – RED PALADIN….+13
T* – IMAGINARY WORLD….+11
* – ELIZONA….-1
* – JUNGLE BAY….-6
* – ZIGGY’S SECRET….-7
T – ALMANACK….-13

MY PLAY – I will most likely just watch. My top one has yet town on this ground and my fourth highest rated is wholly unexposed. To call this tricky would be an understatement.

LEICESTER 7-00

OCEAN STORY….+10
* – KNIGHT OWL….+9
ENDLESS CREDIT….-1
TY GWR….-11
* – POSTSCRIPT….-14
* – SIOUXPERHERO….-19
T* – MAVERIK….-26
HENRY THE AVIATOR….-26
GOLDSTORM….-30
EXRESS HIMSELF….-36

MY PLAY – I was initially expecting TY GWR to sit top but nope, he’s fourth best but certainly worth keeping an eye on. One of the better races being run today I’ll work with that trio in my top six having that * along side their names. Dutch, 20/80 KNIGHT OWL and exotics.

LEICESTER 7-30

GABRIAL THE THUG….+10
MCMONAGLE….-2
* – SHADES OF SILVER….-14
MY RENAISSANCE….-19
SHEER POETRY….-21
T – TUNNEL TIGER….-23
KHESKIANTO….-35
BUSINESS BAY….-36
HIDDEN ASSET….-38
SOFIAS NUMBER ONE….-38
TEIDE PEAK….-39
MERCURY MAGIC….-40
TAMUJIN….-40

MY PLAY – Top one miles clear on the numbers but as consistent as English weather. One win in 24 starts would kind of back that up and, that he’s so far ahead on my numbers speaks volume for those below him. A dog of a race but if I have a couple of quid burning a hole in my pocket by virtue of earlier success, I’ll play my top three to October Rules.

The very best of luck if you get involved today,

Kindest regards

Ron
