Today’s Ratings and advice 05/07/14

It could get messy today….or should that be Messi?

The rains have been coming down and looking at the BHA website none of the tracks have yet updated their going descriptions. Haydock is still showing good to soft as of 6-30am but I know for a fact it is soft there (may get worse!) and have applied that to the Ratings.

Looking at how those Beverley figures performed last night I have decided I’ll start to include races where we have just the odd 3-y-o involved. How unlucky was Berlusca, 2nd @ 25/1 and clear top rated – hope you were on e.w., Vince!

Choc ‘A’ Moca then got chinned on the line in the last so I am thinking we can dip our toes in the water.

When I return from Scotland (Friday next), I will commence work on all handicaps irrespective of what’s in there.

Whilst I am away I will be providing a full Newsletter service so no “down time” for me.

TECHNICAL ISSUES

I’m afraid we have yet again encountered a problem. I’m thinking we are a tad jinxed right now. After spending a day getting the websites back up, with the exception of The Goal Posts, they were again pulled down by UK2 yesterday for a wholly different reason. Apparently one of the sites is, via a form, sending out spam and they’ve pulled the plug.

One of our 500 Club members who is involved in the industry has very kindly come to our aid and we’ll be transferring all of our sites away from UK2 over the next few days.

My apologies for any inconvenience caused.

HAYDOCK 3-30

* – FATTSOTA….+11

T§ – MIGHTY YAR….-25
SENNOCKIAN STAR….-26
* – BALTY BOYS….-28
T – FORGOTTEN HERO….-29
BUTHELEZI….-40

MY PLAY – My top pair are what I’d suggest are drawn “second best” and they, alone with DASHING STAR, will constitute my own play here.

Luca Cumani has won this four times in the last 19 years and Havana Cooler must have a more than decent chance of making it five in 20 and it’s outside my top six because it is so lightly raced, just six runs on the board to date. The horse seems to handle all ground and the money that has come for it in recent days might be telling us something but I’ll have to work with my numbers because they are what I have. I’ll not be looking to lay the favourite here though.

THREE TO DUTCH – FATTSOTA, MAGIC HURRICANE, DASHING STAR
20/80 – DASHING STAR
EXOTICS – FATSOTTA, MAGIC HURRICANE, DASHING STAR
LAY – NONE

CAPO ROSSO….-13
APOSTLE….-19
TELLOVOI….-31
LAFFAN….-33

MY PLAY – Not one of these has winning form on soft so it’s a no play race for me.

* – SET THE TREND….-10
* – FOREST EDGE….-16

RELATED….-26

MY PLAY – Top three for everything here. If it has not eased I’ll possibly go laying RELATED but if the rains have arrived and it rides slower than good to firm I will not.

THREE TO DUTCH – COMPTON, SHOWBOATING, TAMAYUZ STAR
20/80 – COMPTON
EXOTICS – COMPTON, SHOWBOATING, TAMAYUZ STAR

MY PLAY – As good as that Chepstow race the other day! My top rated needs the word firm in the going description when racing here, all win at Beverley on good to firm. If he gets his conditions then he’s going to be hard to catch.

THREE TO DUTCH – BONDI BEACH BOY, NOODLES BLUE BOY, MR MO JO
20/80 – BONDI BEACH BOY
EXOTICS – BONDI BEACH BOY, NOODLES BLUE BOY, MR MO JO

MY PLAY – My top rated has not won for over three years so, if you get involved, expect the worst. I’ll have it in my dutch and it’ll be my 20/80 but staking here will be low.

THREE TO DUTCH – ANOTHER FOR JOE, TALENT SCOUT, TOTO SKYLLACHY
20/80 – ANOTHER FOR JOE
EXOTICS – ANOTHER FOR JOE, TALENT SCOUT, TOTO SKYLLACHY
