It’s Sunday so, first thing we do is look back at how the figures performed yesterday.
I know you are happy, Vince…
“Ron I just used your top 3 in the 3.05 and landed the lot. Cheers buddy”
….pleasure, sir. Hope you did likewise later on at Chester!
Sometimes “Old School” is perfect.

MY PLAY – A competitive race and here I’m looking to work with horses well drawn and goods to go on the ground sitting in my top six.
GRISSOM, MUTHMIR and CLEAR SPRING get the gig.
THREE TO DUTCH – GRISSOM, MUTHMIR, CLEAR SPRING
20/80 – GRISSOM
EXOTICS – GRISSOM, MUTHMIR, CLEAR SPRING
LAY – NONE
RESULT – Only a neck away from landing my dutch and my profit but otherwise way off beam but, what has been clear these last couple of days is, the stables of Fahey and Johnston are simply ablaze and horses that would generally struggle are not. Great trainers, both.

MY PLAY – Three highest rated bearing a “going” icon will set up my own play in this one.
THREE TO DUTCH – SAN CASSIANO, OUTLAW TORN, DAKOTA CANYON
20/80 – SAN CASSIANO
EXOTICS – SAN CASSIANO, OUTLAW TORN, DAKOTA CANYON
LAY – AMAZE – 2ND 9/4 > 7/4F
RESULT – Seriously pleased with this one. There was a moment of confusion on Facebook where a member was concerned Newcastle had gone good to soft and wondered about the lay. I checked several sources and had it confirmed the ground was fine so, job done.

MY PLAY – I am going to leave my play here until as late as possible as it’s set to rain down there and thundery too! If it eases any then my top rated comes into play….if it doesn’t I’ll work with the trio marked * in my top six rated horses.
THREE TO DUTCH – MIKA MICA, AL SAHAM, KELINNI
20/80 – MICA MIKA
EXOTICS – MICA MIKA, AL SAHAM, KELINNI
LAY – NONE
RESULT – Blindingly good figures and I wonder if Vince was the only one? Top six rated, first six home…I’m more chuffed about that than anything else! The rain came, I adjusted my play so Vince, that made two of us.
* – FLYING POWER….+16
* – GOOD SPEECH….+8
* – DUBAI CELEBRATION….-15
WALL STREET BOSS….-19
* – ROCKWEILLER….-20
* – SINGZAK….-21
* – BRIGHT APPLAUSE….-25
MY PLAY – I have three in my top six qualifying for my own bets and they will be the ones carrying those shekels.
I was tempted to go after WALL STREET BOSS but he’s very lightly raced and this is only the horse’s second run on turf so I’ll resist. They are also the reasons he rates so lowly.
TWO TO DUTCH – FLYING POWER, GOOD SPEECH, DUBAI CELEBRATION
20/80 – FLYING POWER
EXOTIC – FLYING POWER, GOOD SPEECH, DUBAI CELEBRATION
LAY – NONE
RESULT – As good as that last one, this was as bad. It happens. Doncaster has a hex on me at the moment.
* – KINGSCROFT….+/-0
* – SHOWBOATING….-17
MY PLAY – Tricky….I’m thinking my top one with with the pair marked * for my own play but I’ll be keeping my stakes down for this one.
THREE TO DUTCH – SELF EMPLOYED, KINGSCROFT, SHOWBOATING
20/80 – KINGSCROFT
EXOTICS – SELF EMPLOYED, KINGSCROFT, SHOWBOATING
LAY – NONE
RESULT – Fahey and another big priced one again. My figures were all over the place here I’m afraid.
§* – OLDJOESAID….+9 – 2ND 5/1
§ – CHEWOREE….+/-0 – WON 7/2
* – TANGO SKY….-8 – 3RD 7/1
* – PANDAR….-15 – 4TH 14/1
§ – ROYAL BAJAN….-24
§ – TRADER JACK….-38
MY PLAY – My top one has to be my 20/80 now the ground has eased. It has been raining non-stop here and when I prepped this one it was good to firm, it’s now good to soft….and still raining on Wirral.
With my always preferring a horse proven on the going as opposed to being well drawn (it’s a wasted daw if you do not handle the ground), I’ll take TANGO SKY and PANDAR for my dutch.
THREE TO DUTCH – OLDJOESAID, TANGO SKY, PANDAR
20/80 – OLDJOESAID
EXOTICS – OLDJOESAID, TANGO SKY, PANDAR
LAY – NONE
RESULT – A peach for those playing to “old school” again…Old School is basically using my top three for the play I make myself….but stopped doing a couple of years ago to be more selective. I get mine too, though!
Simply very pleased with how things panned out yesterday.

MY PLAY – Top three marked * for my dutch in the first instance. My top one looks a solid 20/80 and I’ll see if I can get the Exotics stored, too.

MY PLAY – If the winner sits outside my top three then I’m losing money here. I do very much fear WARRIGAL, especially given the record Moore has when riding for Noseda here. Still lightly raced too so not a lot to work with and if he wins, he wins.
THREE TO DUTCH – NAVE, URBAN SPACE, THECORNISHCOWBOY
20/80 – NAVE
EXOTICS – NAVE, URBAN SPCAE, THECORNISHCOWBOY
LAY – NONE
Have a great day and the very best of luck
