Today’s Ratings and Advice 12/05/14

Three meetings but only five rated races and nothing at the evening meeting…I’ll not say I’m unhappy I have no races at Windsor to work with!

The race we’ll all have eyes on today is the 3-05 at Musselburgh, when our 500 Club horse, Alanos, takes to the track for the second time. We will know a lot more about him today and I’m sure those members attending will have a great day out.

DONCASTER 2-10

ANA SHABABIYA….+4
* – GRAND ILLUSION….+3
§ – BOSSA NOVA BABY….-9
BALLYSHONAGH….-17
§ – MISSY WELLS….-20
GOLDMACHEN….-22
§ – TARO TYWOD….-24
DANSILI DUTCH….-24
§ – CONSERVE….-26
PUSH ME….-29
ISDAAL….-35
THE DUCKING STOOL….-35

MY PLAY – I will be leaving this well alone. Not one has winning form on the going as currently described but they have more rain forecast and it could well cause problems as we go through the day. We have a couple of relatively unexposed ones in here, too not least MISSY WELLS and BALLYSHONAGH, the first named representing a very much upwardly mobile trainer and jockey. Nope, I’m just watching.

DONCASTER 3-50

AZRUR….-6
* – EQUITY RISK….-14
* – HENRY THE AVIATOR….-18
* – BEST OF ORDER….-21
* – CORPORAL MADDOX….-24
TASRIH….-27
ALEJANDRO….-32
PERSONAL TOUCH….-32
LIFE PARTNER….-33
FOXTROT ROMEO….-40

MY PLAY – I’ll take rated horses 2, 3 and 4 for an October Rules type play and that’s it.

MUSSELBURGH 3-05

§ – CHECKPOINT….-7
MYSTERIAL….-9
§ – LIVE DANGEROUSLY….-12
§ – ALANOS….-21
AD VITAM….-23
TANAWAR….-25

MY PLAY – Top three for me…Dutch, 20/80 RALPHY BOY, simply because he’s got a cracking good draw and has winning form on this ground. Exotics same three. As I say above ALANOS has a good draw to work from but trip and ground do concern me. I am also thinking it is James’s first runner on the flat at Musselburgh.

MUSSELBURGH 3-40

* – GRAND DIAMOND….+1
FLY SOLO….-7
CHAPARELLA….-12
* – LOVE MARMALADE….-14

MUSIKHANI….-26
IHTIKAR….-36
MERCHANT OF MEDICI….-40
MAGNOLIA RIDGE….-40
MADRASA….-40
LATIN REBEL….-40

MY PLAY – Rated horses 1, 3 and 6 for a dutch, a 20/80 my top one and exotics but low staking, for sure.

MUSSELBURGH 5-20

§* – EBONY CLARETS….+8
* – CYFLYMDER….+5
FIFE JO….+4
* – VIKING WARRIOR….-1
§* – AMIS REUNIS….-4

§ – CLUMBER PLACE….-10
* – IMPERATOR AUGUSTUS….-12
IGGY….-23
SEASIDE ROCK….-32
§ – GRACEFUL ACT….-33

MY PLAY – I’m plucking rated horses 1, 2 and 5 from my top six and setting up my Dutch, going 20/80 my top one and gaffing about with those exotics.

Have a great day and the very best of luck if you are getting involved.

Kindest regards

Ron
