Another absolutely stunning day for Post Racing members. I was getting some lovely messages throughout the day but the place went ballistic at the end of the game between West Ham and Man Utd!
You have to read to this lot and wonder at the brilliance of the people working with us on this, not just the horse racing information you receive but the guys over at The Goal Posts, which subscribed Post Racing members currently have free access to.
The Podcast again comes up trumps with Run Ructions Run, the “PROFILING PREDICTION” of the only race I was remotely invested in from that perspective, won @ 11/2….a spot or two bigger the night before!
I have been asked if I will post in the Saturday Newsletter details of these horses and I will from next weekend. I will include a profiling breakdown of those races I myself will be punting, that are not used for Ratings purposes.
Do you use the OF INTEREST section? Yesterday the horses suggested as being “worth a look” did well….
HURRICANE VIC – 3RD 25/1
(Newbury 4-40) – 20/80
MAJOR IVAN – 2ND 8/1
(Kelso 4-50) – 20/80
THOMAS BROWN – WON 11/10
(Bangor 5-40) – straight win
So….if you have your cornflakes, toast and coffee/tea to hand, read on!
*PEPITE ROSE….+8 – WON 8/1
ULCK DE LIN….-1
ADVICE – This is as tight as a mallards backside. Not a lot of spots between my top eight rated horses and I’m thinking it should be a great race to watch. hopefully a great race to bet on too! Top three for my bets…dutch, 20/80 my top one and exotics, same three.
RESULT – I love Newbury, always have done, always will do. One of the best tracks I have visited, too. Even better when we get results like this one.
*ROALCO DE FARGES….+9 – WON 13/2 > 7/2
*SIVOLA DE SIVOLA….+9
*WHAT A WARRIOR….-6
ADVICE – The racing here this afternoon is what I’ve been waiting for all season, win lose or draw. Tight handicaps are simply brilliant to watch, when a decent prize is on offer and everything is trying. Hopefully my numbers are right and I draw a few shekels playing my top three to a dutch, a 20/80 ROALCO DE FARGES and exotics….now that’d be a dividend coming my way!
RESULT – Blindingly good! I hope you all got on the early morning prices!!
*SANDS COVE….-20 – 2ND 2/1
DARK AND DANGEROUS….-40
PRINCE OF DREAMS….-40
ADVICE – They had to finish with a race like this, didn’t they! Top pair to October Rules, if I can summon up the urge.
RESULT – Proof they cannot all win….and another runner up to add to the list for those playing just my top rated horses.
ADVICE – I will not be betting this race. My second highest rated is here off the back of just a couple of runs and I’m certainly not going to try and guess if he’ll be that much better than my figure right now.
RESULT – Leaving this alone proved a sound decision.
*WARDEN HILL….+10 – 2ND 7/2
*REV IT UP….-19
*RED NOT BLUE….-25
ADVICE – Two clear on my numbers, two Donald McCain runners in my top four (wrong way around?)….I’ll be dutching rated horses 1, 2 and 6 with a nice 20/80 my top one and exotics.
RESULT – I felt the pain of this one right enough. Several days ago the winner of this, Heavenstown, was my top rated and just got caught by the rag in that race. Today my top rated fails by a neck to concede it 18lbs….nuff said.
*KEENELAND….+5 – WON 12/1
*OVERPRICED….-2 – 2ND 33/1
*DAMASCUS STEEL….-8 – 4TH 12/1
ADVICE – Another I’ll not be betting in. WAR LORD comes here off just two runs and with so many other races to work with today, if my top one wins and I’ve missed a teeedly 20/80…which is all I’d be considering, then no great loss.
RESULT – Decision making at it’s very best. NOT. The top four would have been the first four home had Captain Brown not fallen at the last but then, would we have collected, because he was leading…if completely legless. Those that punted the top three to October Rules or anything else couldn’t care less I don’t suppose because they pocketed a superb 296/1 exacta.
*THE PANAMA KID….+11
*ISLA PEARL FISHER….+1
ADVICE – Emma Lavelle is sending my bottom rated horse on a monster journey to run in this….why? The only other time this horse has raced on genuine good ground over timber it got beaten a double distance at Aintree! I’ll be working with my top three…usual play.
RESULT -I played my top three to smallish staking but seriously concentrated my efforts on laying Gullinbursti. I couldn’t have him on the ground and he failed to get home.
LIE FORRIT….-11 – WON
*LACKAMON….-12 – 3RD
*DROP OUT JOE….-21
*WHO OWNS ME….-23
ADVICE – This has a “tricky” feel to it. I’ll work with rated horses 1, 2 and 4 but, carefully!
RESULT – Had a sneaky feeling I’d get done here. I was.
UN GUET APENS….-27
ADVICE – Rated horses 1 & 3 dutched, a small 20/80 my top one and we’ll see if my numbers come up!
RESULT – My top rated…plum last….happened before and, it’ll happen again. They do not run on rails I’m afraid.
OUR BOY BEN….-9
*I’LL BE FRANK….-12
TOO COOL TO FOOL….-35
ADVICE – Another filed under “tricky, low staking!”….Rated horses 1, 2 and 4 again get the call to arms….play and cross the lot at this end.
RESULT – And another top rated plods home stone last. The winner was the second in recent times that the trainer, Keith Dalgleish, has “improved” one significantly and he was asked a few questions by the authorities after Bellorphon, well backed from 13/2 > 9/2, won easy…23 lengths, to be precise.
DOUCHKIRK….+13 – 3RD 11/2
*OSGOOD….+3 – WON 14/1 > 11/1
*CAPTAIN SHARPE….-1 – 4TH 9/4
ECHOES OF JOY….-12 – 2ND 33/1
CASH FOR STEEL….-34
ADVICE – Do you really fancy playing a seller? Me neither. The scary thing is, the Racing Post “verdict” column mentions only my top three as being worthy of consideration. Winner must be in there then, eh!
RESULT – OSGOOD SCORES!….I was hoping I’d be able to say that! Highest rated horse carrying the *….top four rated first four past the post….I didn’t bet but cracking figures, no?
*ROYALE KNIGHT….+8 – 2ND 3/1
*SAIL AND RETURN….+1
*THE CLYDA ROVER….-25
ADVICE – Top three clear on my numbers, all good to go on the ground as currently described….usual betting at this end then!
MOSS ON THE HILL….-40
ADVICE – Now, this is going to wreck your brains or, fill your boots. My top rated is part owned by a guy that runs a tipping line, that moves his horses if the trainer training them doesn’t give up information for the purposes of passing on to his clients, on other owners horses….let’s say allegedly, just in case he’s reading. The jockey that have booked, a 10lb claimer, has ridden just once here and, he rode a winner. The trainer has an outstanding record with anything he drives up to this course and, the horse is miles clear on my figures. Thing is, what’s the owner doing? I’ll leave this well alone for betting purposes because I don’t fancy getting my fingers burned. If my top rated wins then, we’ll have been expecting it…if it doesn’t…well, we’ll have been expecting it.
RESULT – So, now we know, eh.
THE GOAL POSTS
We know the site has been in limbo due to my recent prolonged illness but the guys providing tips for us have simply been amazing…and consistent. Yesterday both Garry Pritchard and Tony Davidson produced profits in spades, Garry another “clean sheet” with his selections and Tony Davidson, who predicted something you just cannot buy in tins.
This is what he wrote:
This weekend the match I am concentrating on is that one at Upton Park. I’m again going against something I mentioned a while ago in that I do not like betting on football matches involving teams that have played midweek games. Had Utd been playing in Greece, this would not have been my game at all. However, one fact I mentioned last week, that being Utd sitting second in the Premier league, based on away form only, is bolstered by another stat involving Wayne Rooney.
He simply loves playing against the Hammers. In his last seven Premier league games against them he has scored 7 goals and assisted in 3 more. Rooney is also averaging not far off a goal every other game in the Premiership this season having scored 11 in 24 games.
In league table consisting of purely home form West Ham have just five teams below them, with the likes of Cardiff and Palace above them. They have won their last three home games admittedly but two of those were against Norwich and Swansea with the other against a Southampton team that have settled for where they are in the league now.
My bets this weekend will be:
Rooney to score first and Utd to win 2-0 – 0.5pt – 22/1 – WON
Rooney to score first and Utd to win 3-0 – 0.5pt – 40/1
Utd to win – 2 pts – 10/11 – WON
Do you listen in? You should! I only wanted to discuss one race on Friday, the Newbury Novice hurdle won by Run Ructions Run….the horse that came out as the play on profiling.
Sean advised everyone that in his piece on the website, he would be giving us the name of a horse he felt strongly about….it won.
Post Racing members are provided with so many high quality betting opportunities that are not available anywhere else.
Not a lot to get excited about this afternoon…a pleasant enough days racing though.

*INDICATES HORSES HAVING WON PREVIOUSLY ON THE GOING AS CURRENTLY DESCRIBED ABOVE
MARKET RASEN 2-30
ADVICE – Not a great start to the punting day….the three highest rated marked * to October Rules…that’s my own play here.
MARKET RASEN 3-00
*PHOENIX DES MOTTES….-14
OVER AND ABOVE….-32
ADVICE – Top pair dutched, a straight win my top one and an exotic but I’ll not get carried away here.
MARKET RASEN 3-30
*BELLE DE FONTENAY….-16
ADVICE – Again it’s a simple case for me….top pair marked * to be played as above but a 20/80 my top one, instead of on the nose.
MARKET RASEN 4-30
*BOOK ‘EM DANNO….+10
ADVICE – I have three in my top six marked * so, a dutch, a 20/80 my top one and exotics….nothing overly exciting, just enough to keep me interested.
NOM DE GUERRE….+12
ADVICE – I myself will just settle for a straight win bet JAYANBEE, dutch the two marked * to pay for both that and my exotic, same pair.
Have a brilliant day and best of luck.
