I think it fair to say the figures came up with that diamond, wouldn’t you? Had a text from a 500 Club member celebrating his birthday yesterday, who played the exacta in the race below, which actually provided a trifecta opportunity paying 117/1, if you secured it….a six runner race offering such an opportunity will certainly have enticed one or two of you to get involved.
*FRECKLE FACE….+12 – WON 8/1
*PENSNETT BAY….+10 – 2ND 9/1
*MENTALIST….+9 – 3RD 7/2
That was actually the best race of the day, which didn’t say much and i could not have asked for a better outcome. I didn’t even watch the racing yesterday, let alone bet on it but I know of a few that did.
So, a profitable weekend for those punting the top rated horse and I hope everyone has heeded the advice drummed out these past two months of concentrating only on weekend racing, if you felt you had to get involved. I will be asking for the figures of weekend only betting and we’ll see if I was right to advise that….gut feeling is, yep!
Today is a busy one and we’ve no fewer than seven races to look at. The weather looks set to be kind to us, both tracks have had very little rain overnight and, I’m playing.
As we start to see more settled weather I will be introducing text into those boxes below…and not before time. What I will also be doing this morning is having a look at the cracking good Novice ‘Chase at Musselburgh, the 3-50. If I find my results worth sharing I will be doing it on the Facebook wall we have set up for Post Racing. Given what it is we are actually trying to achieve here it’s vital more people see what we do and that, whilst I hate the place, is one of the better ways. This will be done before noon today so, if you have not yet got a Facebook account register and then give our page a “Like”….you are not obligated in any way to do anything else over on Facebook but, for sure, it’s going to become an extremely active way of promoting Post Racing.

Those that have been around a while may recall I asked David O'Meara to buy Ryton Runner for us at the sales a couple of seasons back but he advised against purchasing an ex-Gosden horse. Won or placed in nine of it's 17 runs over hurdles so far, he'd have given us some fun but perhaps a good decision made. MUSSELBURGH 2-50 *OH RIGHT....+10 *SILVER STEEL....+8 SOUL ANGEL....-2 DINGO BAY....-16 BEN AKRAM....-17 GLEANN NA NDOCHAIS....-40 MOONLIGHT MAGGIE....-40 ADVICE - Top pair will do for me....dutch, 20/80 Oh Right and an exotic. MUSSELBURGH 3-20 *PASS MUSTER....+9 COOL SKY....+8 *COOL BARANCA....-4 *BELLGROVE....-4 *OVERPRICED....-7 *TOM WADE....-15 DANTE'S FROLIC....-21 LONE FOOT LADDIE....-40 ADVICE - Good little race. I will work with my top two....I have no idea as to the real ability of Cool Sky as he's had the required number of runs to go handicapping and McCain wouldn't be sending him here for a Scottish passport. MUSSELBURGH 4-20 BLUE KASCADE....+11 *NEWDANE DANCER....+8 SHAN VALLEY....-18 PAIRC NA LEASA....-29 KAYFROU....-33 SPANISH FLEET....-35 PATRIOT....-36 RELAND....-37 SOLWAY DORNAL....-40 DOUCHKIRK....-40 MRS GRASS....-40 THE BOOZY BISHOP....-40 ADVICE - Outside my top pair it looks a race for third place. Only one horse in here has previous winning form on the going as currently described and that one sits second best. I'll just dutch my top pair, go 20/80 Newdane Dancer and lob an exotic on....if the winner is outside my top pair I'll be stunned...and poorer. PLUMPTON 3-10 *DUNGENESS....+12 *CLONUSKER....-5 *TEALISSIO....-8 *LITTLE ROXY....-12 REGAL ONE....-16 OSGOOD....-24 WARRANT OFFICER....-27 HOLD THE BUCKS....-29 THE PIER....-31 ADVICE - My feeling is Clonusker will miss this...if so, it's the "top three" marked * that will interest me most and that will be played to my usual methods. PLUMPTON 4-10 *ROYAUME BLEU....+16 DUSHY VALLEY....+11 TWOPOUNDSOFBUTTER....-16 TORRAN SOUND....-23 MACCABEES....-28 STRANGE BIRD....-29 ALFIE ALEXANDER....-40 ZAFARABAD....-40 LANDERBEE....-40 ADVICE - A bit of a shocker, really. October Rules will most certainly apply here, that's for sure! Best of luck if you get involved this afternoon Kindest regards Ron
