I am really feeling for John Standish right now. I think someone “up there” is testing his mettle because that one he tipped up yesterday looked home and hosed with three to jump. Tullyraine led from the off, had everything off the bit, went about 15 lengths up with two to jump and still got beaten. The horse simply ran out of petrol but what a cracking ride from the front Sam Twiston-Davies gave it.
What it does tell me though is that John knows his onions. He gave a good mention for one that won the opening race at Exeter @ 4/1 and it is only a matter of time before everything falls into place and horses like Tullyraine do not get reeled in after jumping the last.
My figures performed very well again, too. Those playing the top rated only had a frustrating afternoon but a nice 5/1 winner in Last Shot made it bearable. I, as you know, believe the dutch to be King when it comes to punting on horse racing and that again proved to be the case. Bangor in particular produced some brilliant results for me and those using my figures for laying purposes (or simply following my lay advices), played a blinder. Two suggested lays yesterday, both ridden by AP, both going off favourite, were beaten into second place.
I so very nearly had a clean sweep on the dutch at that meeting, too. I genuinely felt Opera Og was going to get me off to a flyer but just like Tullyraine, he ran out of legs jumping the last and was passed by two, beaten just a length. But then came the doozies!

*QUARTZ DE THAIX….+10

20/80 – LOCH BA

LAY – NONE
ADVICE – The best race of the day and one I’m very much looking forward to. Ultra competitive, as my figures indicate and again it’ll just be down to fitness.
RESULT – Dutch landed, a superb 104/1 exacta, lovely 107/1 CSF and profits banked.
*BOURNE….+11 – 3RD
*STOPPED OUT….+11 – WON 13/2
THREE TO DUTCH – BOURNE, STOPPED OUT, HADA MEN
20/80 – BOURNE
EXOTICS – BOURNE, STOPPED OUT, HADA MEN
LAY – SHOTAVODKA
ADVICE – Another superb race on what is a really good card here. I’ll happily work with my top three.
RESULT – The favourite beaten, a nice 13/2 winner in my dutch and another very profitable race for me personally.
In two of the three rated races at Exeter I would not have found the winners of the first two of them using Jodrell Bank but the third race, in which I didn’t play, just watched, the top three were the first three home and that to me, as I’ve said many times, is just as pleasing from an accuracy point of view.
I love the NH racing!

*PRESENT TO YOU….-25
THREE TO DUTCH – KINGS LODGE, LAVA LAMP, INSIDE DEALER
20/80 – LAVA LAMP
EXOTICS – KINGS LODGE, LAVA LAMP, INSIDE DEALER
LAY – NONE
ADVICE – When I first looked at this race I could have sworn I saw Rydalis wink at me but having produced my figures and also noted that the mare needs it palpably slower, I’ll just suffer if she wins. To be quite honest with you I have no idea what the going is really like as their “going stick” suffered a malfunction and all they can tell us right now is, it’s similar to the last going stick reading they took last Thursday! Can they really only afford one going stick?
*TYPHON DE GUYE….-1
*PONTE DI ROSA….-11
ADVICE – Not a race I will be parting with many shekels on. I’ll probably just have a small 20/80 my top one and see if McCoy can lift it home.
*CRUISE IN STYLE….+9
IN THE CROWD….-15
GOING NOWHERE FAST….-21
TO THE SKY….-33
ADVICE – Plenty of unexposed ones open to improvement and it’s a bit like spitting into a wind, punting this one. I have no idea if a return to hurdling will help my top rated….nor do I know if this forecast quicker ground is what he wants so another race I myself will just be watching.
RUSSIE WITH LOVE….-4
*PASS THE TIME….-16
ADVICE – Just a straight win bet my top rated here. I might consider an exotic with Combustible Lady but it’s only a consideration right now.
*MIGHT AS WELL….-9
ADVICE – I am happy to work with my top three here….dutch, 20/80 my top one and exotics. My staking won’t cause much by way of ripples on the layers ponds but enough to make it interesting.
SIGN OF A VICTORY (Ludlow 4-00) – straight win
MR BRIDGER (Taunton 4-10) – 20/80
THE E.W. DOUBLE
Transfer (Taunton 1-10)
Sign Of A Victory (Ludlow 4-00)
Have a great day and best of luck if you are punting
