I watched Cheltenham yesterday and was going to ask Ron how he figures out those ratings but having seen others told about the need for them to be killed once they know, I resisted. If I had placed a bet yesterday I would have got stuffed. The early results at Newcastle were stupid and I am glad I took the day off.
Today I thought would be easier and I guess if I suggest you follow Ruby Walsh at Punchestown I would not be a loser on the day. He will, probably, run up a short priced treble before I have my lunch but any profit off it probably wouldn’t pay for that lunch so no point really.
I believe I have found a bet at Uttoxeter and Renard D’Irlande surely only has to give a repeat of his second placing to Vino Griego which saw Battle Group seven lengths off him in third place. Battle Group has an outsiders chance in the Paddy Power today so with the ground absolutely perfect and his having chasing experience on his side plus the Venetia Williams yard in good form at the moment I am hoping all those factors put me in the winners enclosure.
