It’s a shame but this game of horse racing causes cynicism in a lot of people. It’s the gambling aspect that does it and when something like Post Racing comes along and asks people to part with money in return for the product, irrespective of what it’s going to do with your money, eyebrows raise, people look at why you are doing it and it seems to be “expected” that something is being done to simply enable someone else to bank a lot of money and “have it off”.
I know, from experience gained since starting this project, that there are plenty of sharks out there looking to fleece people….even others involved in the sport! It wont matter a jot that I explain “we are not like that”, that what we are trying to do is “genuine”….the mindset of some will be that we are involved in horse racing, betting on horse racing and, therefore, we must simply be another form of shark.
In the last couple of days I’ve wasted over an hour of my time e-mailing and Tweeting….sounds ridiculous that, doesn’t it….and whilst I’ll not bore you with the content all I will say is, if I ever do anything that causes you to raise that eyebrow, if I ever “say” anything that has you thinking, “that’s not kosher”, e-mail me….don’t bottle it up and let it fester. I may not be able to respond straight away because the workload I have given myself this year is simply wicked but, I will get back to you when I can. Feel free to give me a nudge to let me know you are still awaiting a response.
Most of the questions asked have been answered many, many times in previous Newsletters. What I do, how I do it and why, has been gone over hundreds of times but we know, again from experience, that the majority of members do not read everything written. They want the figures, the advice as to what I myself am looking to do and then get off. I understand that. Sometimes there is a lot of content to be read….some of it totally useless but, most of it mighty pertinent to helping you understand what I’m doing and how you should be treating the information contained.
I know a few will be looking at yesterday’s results and feeling that it was a poor day. It was if you punted. I didn’t even bother putting the TV on to watch it….listen to the podcast, it was done whilst racing was taking place….and Sean’s filling me in on results as they were coming through. The ground has gone, we are “guessing” what’s underfoot and I’m just not going to bet a penny piece whilst it’s like this. When I see 100/1 shots winning juvenile races I know I’m making the right decision.
You will see horses bearing form figures that resemble a line of duck eggs, now winning races. Don’t be at all surprised. They have been running on unsuitable ground through the summer, waiting for the rains and now they’ll show true form. I’m just glad I only have 17 more days of this season to work with!
I know it has been raining at Doncaster overnight. They are still calling it good to soft and won’t change that until they have inspected this morning so, how can I provide you with accurate information with which to punt horses? Simple truth is, I cannot.
You will now start to see big fields of moose, races divided, because (as my late dad used to say), they are now running for their feed. I’m pretty darned sure that if I get a dry week, we’ll still bag a nice profit from what is still to come but if we don’t, we wont. I have resigned myself to the fact we’ll not hit that +400 points mark this month but, I’m going to put all of my efforts into at least matching the profits gained this flat season, over the coming NH season. That would be some feat and I’m probably setting myself up for a fall but, I guarantee you I’ll be working all the hours required in order to achieve it.
I myself will not bet until I know we have going as described when I worked on the races below. I worked to hard through the summer to “give it back” and I suggest you make the same decision. Sure, we’ll probably miss a nice priced winner at some point but I guarantee we’ll miss far more losers and save money.

ADVICE – Above we have two divisions of the same race. Twenty three horses with just six having won previously on good to soft, as it is currently described. Right now, it’s overcast having been raining, with further rain due from around noon. How will it ride? Your guess is every bit as good as mine!
Let’s see what happens regarding the weather. I’m not going to suggest horses of interest or post another novelty bet until I know what we are dealing with.
Have a great day and, if you get involved rest assured, you’re in our prayers!
