We are still receiving e-mails from members advising they are not receiving the Newsletter every day or with other issues and until I have them resolved, I’m going to work with this more basic template. We are convinced it’s a “setting” issue at your end and we’ll look into how to resolve this for you….although it will be something you have to “click” at your end.
I was right about the draw bias in that first race yesterday…it was so marginal it made no difference and, with three taken out it made even less of a difference. The ground was also riding a little bit quicker than good to firm, whilst not quite firm and unfortunately for me I could do little or nothing about it, as I was enjoying the delights of Chatsworth House!
That really was a hell of a race to start with and I’m happy I had the first three home in my top 10 rated!! My top rated finished 12th but was beaten just six lengths and their was just seven lengths covering the first 14 home….great to watch though, wasn’t it.
My top pair in that marathon later in the afternoon finished 5th & 6th, beaten around four lengths but wouldn’t it be great to see Rosie improve as much as the last one to beat her on all weather has improved! Broxbourne beat us three lengths at Wolverhampton and is now looking every inch a Cesarewitch horse. Horses and racing, eh.
Sharaarah had to choose yesterday to win it’s first race on the turf after I opted to leave it out…a nice 5/1 top rated winner for those punting that horse. The figures, even for those bog awful races, proved pretty much spot on and I was only joking, I’ll not report you for punting them…if you did.
Today we are very light on racing….just York and Bath for me to work with and finding horses I would be comfortable laying right now is proving seriously difficult. Small fields etc means most everything is in my top six that would look good to lay and at York today the tissue leaders all sit cosy on my figures so, we’ll bide our time and get after them when appropriate.

THREE TO DUTCH – QUEENSBURY RULES, WENTWORTH, SMARTY SOCKS
20/80 – QUEENSBURY RULES
EXOTICS – QUEENSBURY RULES, WENTWORTH, SMARTY SOCKS
LAY – NONE
PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – Low much preferred
ADVICE – Again ultra competitive but that’s what we should be expecting here all week. My bottom rated, as was the case yesterday, is a Group 3 winner in another life but he’s got a draw that equates to shackles, which would make reversing form with Wentworth from Goodwood nigh on impossible. I’ll work with those selected although whether I have the right David O’Meara horses in my top six, only he would really know but, we’ll use that draw bias to our benefit and see what happens.

THREE TO DUTCH – DUTCH ROSE, SHESASTAR, ELLE WOODS
20/80 – DUTCH ROSE
EXOTICS – DUTCH ROSE, SHESASTAR, ELLE WOODS
LAY – NONE
PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – Middle preferred to high, both preferred to low.
ADVICE – Another beauty. For me personally it’ll be the three I believe best drawn, all of which have winning form on good to firm.
MY STROPPY POPPY….-40
*DREAMS OF GLORY….+14
ADVICE – Three of my top four have won previously on firm ground and that’s a vital ingredient when looking for a winner at this place. Dutch, 20/80 DREAMS OF GLORY and exotics.
*SPIC ‘N SPAN….-10
ADVICE – My top rated should be winning this BUT, he’s a Class 6 horse, in a Class 6 race and whilst he had four of this lot behind him when he won here three weeks ago, who knows what will happen today. I’m on straight win, top two CSF/Exacta and a straight tricast top three.
RUFFORD (York 1-55) – 20/80
VENUS DE MILO (York 3-40) – straight win
