I received the feedback regarding Grandorio late last night and this is what has come out of that race at Haydock.
Grandorio has returned to Helmsley after his run at Haydock on Saturday.
David has reported that he had a bit of heat in his leg this morning; he doesn’t think it is anything serious but could certainly have been a contributing factor in yesterday’s run. Grandorio will now have a quiet few days while David monitors his condition.
On reflection of Saturday’s run, although your horse was a well beaten third, Kieren Fallon was considerably easy on him inside the final furlong once he knew he wouldn’t be able to win and David felt he would have been on the heels of the second placed horse under more vigorous riding.
That said, Kieren certainly did the right thing in easing him down when clearly beaten.
A three runner, tactical race was never really going to suit Grandorio. The stop-start gallop on fast ground on a fast track certainly wasn’t his bag. Going forward, the step up to a mile and a half would be in his compass and more decent ground may also favour.
We will be monitoring Grandorio over the next few days to see how he is progressing and, once given the nod from David, we can start making race plans.
I will be speaking to Cosmo or Simon in the very near future and hopefully I can get an quicker update back to you.
On a more positive note….how good was yesterday!
The sun was cracking the flags, I had my grandkids with me visiting Rosie’s Lady (full report to follow this afternoon, new pics on her Facebook wall) and they enjoyed themselves very much, we got back just in time for the mens Wimbledon final, watched Andy Murray perform brilliantly to win it and, we smashed the layers over the boundary at Ayr. Papa John’s pizza in the back garden with a Crabbies at 6-00pm and I hit my sack a happy man after prepping up today’s ratings.
One of those days you didn’t want to end.
We have seen plenty of new Site members register since the free newsletter started going out again last week and I guess a winner a day will entice people to find out more. Yesterday the free Newsletter provided them with my figures for the Ayr 4-30 and they landed the lot.
Today we have three meetings to work with and hopefully we’ll produce more profits.

CROSS THE BOSS….+16
*CALL OF DUTY….-25
§MR DREAM MAKER….-39
THREE TO DUTCH – TECTONIC, PRINCESS GAIL, MONSIEUR PONTHAVEN
20/80 – TECTONIC
EXOTICS – TECTONIC, PRINCESS GAIL, MONSIEUR PONTHAVEN
LAY – NONE
PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – Low appear blessed!
ADVICE – My figures suggest David’s horse only has to turn up but, he’s got a nasty draw to race from (if I am seeing straight after the Crabbies), and he has yet to win on good to firm ground, having placed three times from five starts on it…..but that’s not the same as winning on it, is it. I was tempted to have MUSIC FESTIVAL in my dutch as he’s drawn “second best” and has the * indicator but, with three just sited below him all having §*, they get the call to punt and I myself will play as indicated.
ADVICE – My top rated might find this grade testing him but no doubting he has a passion for Ayr! Not a lot of mileage in betting this race though as my figures mirror the tissue so, I’ll just work with my top two…dutch, 20/80 FORREST FLYER and an exotic.
*ORBIT THE MOON….+10
*HOT ROD MAMMA….-11
ADVICE – A couple of these have been very busy recently (4 & 5), but not getting their heads in front. I’ll pitch my top three into a dutch, go 20/80 ORBIT THE MOON and set up those exotics.
*CHEERS FOR THEA….+1
THE BLUE BANANA….-17
CLOCK ON TOM….-19
THREE TO DUTCH – BORDER BANDIT, DUBAI CELEBRATION, CHEERS FOR THEA
20/80 – DUBAI CELEBRATION
EXOTICS – BORDER BANDIT, DUBAI CELEBRATION, CHEERS FOR THEA
LAY – CLOCK ON TOM
PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – Low distinctly best
ADVICE – Low drawn do look best so if you are looking to cover those marked § be my guest. I’m working as indicated because two are well boxed and the single play has also previous winning form on good to firm ground. He is part owned by someone that has a tipping line so watch the market….that should reveal a lot.
*BLANC DE CHINE….+4
WEST COAST DREAM….-18
ADVICE – Three having achieved a + figure, all good to go on good to firm, they’ll do for all bets.
GOOD LUCK CHARM….-19
ADVICE – Those that have been working with me for a few years will remember THE CAYTERERS being advised a play on the old Sportsman forum….good old days! My figures suggest that even at the tender age of 11 he can still be in there pitching but are the old legs still willing? I will just have a straight win bet CONSIGN and leave it at that.
*BREAKING THE BANK….+9
ADVICE – October Rules!….rated horses 2, 5 and 6 to absolute buttons. A lousy way to end the evening.
WEST BEAT (Ayr 5-30) – 20/80
NEXT DOOR (Ripon 6-50) – 20/80
GUNG HO JACK (Windsor 6-00) – 20/80
BET OF THE DAY
LAY OF THE DAY
Have a brilliant day and the very best of luck if you get involved!
