Short and sweet today as I have had a busy day and even I like an hour or two off now and again. As Ron will (hopefully) have written elsewhere, those who tuned in to the Podcast got the first and second in the King George between us, as well as the forecast in the York Stakes and a pretty big negative from me for the well beaten Cirrus Des Aigles so, happy days all round, especially with the handicap mentions Ron also passed on!
As for the race itself, a course record time by winner Novellist means we need to take the form very seriously, though I freely admit I did not back him personally as I could not get a handle on the German form – though I can now and I would need to see solid evidence of a return to form by the French favourite before I part with any of my cash. I rarely, if ever, back ante post but as I write the winner’s price for the Arc is 6/1 (along with French derby winner Flintshire), and if I was in to that sort of thing, I would consider Dutching the two. No article Sunday (day of rest and all that!), so back Monday with a review of the day and a very quick look at day one of Glorious Goodwood!
