Sean’s “Day in Brief” 24th July 2013

jeremy nosedaNot the most exciting action ever seen to be fair but winners are winners and favourite backers had a mixed day at every track. Personally, with the sun shining I just had to pop down to Lingfield to chew the fat with a few trainers and see what came out in the wash. To be fair, the quality on show was better than recent days but not top quality so I will not be getting overly excited about anything I saw, but there was a whisper before the 2.40pm that Yellow Emperor had been working well in Newmarket and Jeremy Noseda’s (pictured), son of Holy Roman emperor was duly sent off a well backed 9/4 (though I saw precious little money for him in the ring to be fair).  Slowly away, greener than grass, and never in with any kind of chance, rumours and cash suggest he is a lot better than that and as long as he is kept to similar company (this was a class six), then a victory next time out is very much a possibility? Ride of the day in my book (no, money is not talking!) was by Dane O’Neill who brought Henry Candy’s Buchanan with a beautifully timed run before riding out ball the way to the line to see off Ryan Moore on board Economy, with five lengths back to the third. No one is claiming she will win again but I am saying we an look outside of the so called big gun pilots for some reliability in the saddle with Dane and Jimmy Fortune both very high on my list of those to consider very seriously in a tight contest.
