f it rains today it’ll be early, with a dry afternoon in prospect at Royal Ascot….a far cry from last year!
Since the Newsletter of last night went out I have been looking for further clues or indicators and can see nothing, at this stage, to make me adjust my position on anything mentioned so, it’s all systems go.
If you have a Twitter account then I suggest you follow PostRacingLtd as Sean Trivass, our roving reporter, will be at Royal Ascot tweeting like a goodun! If there is a tip flying around, you will hear of it!
Today we also have two off meetings at Thirsk and Brighton. With the bookmakers eyes possibly off these particular balls, we may find a couple in there to help pay for our day. We’ll see.

ROYAL ASCOT 5-00
ADVICE – If we compare and contrast the information contained within last nights Newsletter we find my top rated was one of the pair shortlisted. I will be having an additional 20/80 MIDNIGHT OIL.
For the purposes of a dutch, if you feel inclined to take out insurance, then rated horses 1, 3, 5, from my top six, look the way to go…same three for exotics.
This kind of race is not one you will be looking to get buried deeply in from a financial standpoint because as I type, only JUNIOR has won over this trip, on the flat and he is completely at the wrong end of the age scale.
*VICTOIRE DE LYPHAR….+9
HALF A BILLION….-25
THREE TO DUTCH – MEANDMYSHADOW, TRADE SECRET, SPYKES BAY
20/80 – MEANDMYSHADOW
EXOTICS – MEANDMYSHADOW, TRADE SECRET, SPYKES BAY
LAY – HALF A BILLION
PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – High vastly superior to middle with low looking anchored.
ADVICE – Cracking little race in which I really fancy my top rated as he’s a front runner on a track that will suit, from a prime draw on ground just perfect. He is the only one of my top six boxed where I want them and I have selected two from middle to set up my dutch etc.
*KEEP IT COOL….-19
ADVICE – If the winner is outside my top three I’ll be scratching my head. Not a lot of profit in a dutch and with my not liking this from a punting perspective, I will probably just have a 20/80 my top rated.
*WEST LEAKE HARE….-9
*DANCE FOR GEORGIE….-25
BOY THE BELL….-34
ADVICE – No draw bias to concern me here and I’ll put faith in my figures….top three dutch, 20/80 GLENRIDDING and exotics but staking will reflect it’s low grade stuff.
ADVICE – Top pair should (hopefully), contain the winner but with these horses you would not be staking your life on it. Today my top rated joins the Centenary Club, this being his 100th race and it would be fitting were he to win….I just favour IMAGINARY DIVA myself.
*BYRD IN HAND….-13
DUKE OF DESTINY….-40
ADVICE – The racing here tonight is almost on a par with that reality stuff you see in the betting shops and the simple fact is, run all of them 100 times and each time we’d get something new turning up. October Rules or nowt here.
THE GURU OF GLOOM….-30
ALL RIGHT NOW….-32
ADVICE – My top rated needs plenty of rain and whilst some is forecast, I doubt it will be anything like enough. That leaves me with THE MONGOOSE….oh dear. Can I trust a front running ride to Adam Kirby? Not a lot of choice really so, a 20/80 THE MONGOOSE, it is.
ADVICE – If we need to be looking to get out on this race then we are in deep lumber. I expect to see my fourth best follow up but, she’s my fourth best so, it’s a 20/80 BERMONDSEY BOB to loose change.
VIGOR (Brighton 6-30) – straight win
WAVEGUIDE (Brighton 7-00) – straight win
WAVERUNNER (Thirsk 4-45) – straight win
BET OF THE DAY
I’m looking to MEANDMYSHADOW – 20/80 – to turn me a profit from that Thirsk 3-30. He has everything “right” and with those other horses with a decent draw looking up against it, I’m thinking we’ll get a big run from him.
LAY OF THE DAY
Have a brilliant day and I’ll be back tonight with day two of the RA Special.
