Another near five point profit on the day for those that simply punt the top rated horse to a point stake. That means, in the first week of May, the Ratings have produced a level stake profit of 34pts off that top rated horse alone.
Yesterday was just surreal. The first four rated races all produced the winners and later successes in the shape of SAINT HELENA 4/1, in my dutch because OMAR KHAYYAM was taken out and that 14/1 shot ABOVE THE STARS, who won the race in which I thought the tissue favourite was unbeatable (so did everyone, looking at the market), meant an exceptional day of punting had been completed. Even the decision to select TOTO SKYLLACHY ahead of the top rated horse proved a winner, as he romped in at 7/2. I guess that makes up for Saturday!
Today two meetings and six rated races. Fingers crossed the roll goes on.

ADVICE – The racing at Yarmouth is 99% of the time low grade stuff that barely ever creeps above Class 5 and today is no exception. You punt knowing full well that those participating would never be much out of place joining in the Wildebeest exodus across the Serengeti. But we still find the diamonds in the dust left behind and whilst staking in all races today will be kept sensible, I’ll play this race as indicated above.

20/80 – SPIN AGAIN
EXOTICS – SPIN AGAIN, JONNIE SKULL, PINK LIPS
LAY – NONE
PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – Low/middle only, please….if anything drawn 9, 10, 11 or 12 wins, I’m a loser here.
ADVICE – The three selected are drawn right, have won previously on good to firm, and sit comfortably in my top six rated so, they get the call to arms!
ADVICE – The vibes emanating from this one are not good and I’m of a mind it’s a no bet race for me. Good luck if you get involved!
THREE TO DUTCH – ORPSIE BOY, BEST TRIP, ORATORY
20/80 – ORPSIE BOY

ADVICE – A very tight, competitive event and i’m hoping it’s now that Ruth Carr kicks into gear because recently I have had her horses right up there and they’ve let me down. I mentioned a few weeks back she is one trainer I find very difficult to work out and when playing hers you most certainly need the insurance a dutch provides!
*MAID OF MEFT….+3
*HEART OF DUBAI….-7
ADVICE – You wouldn’t trust any of these as far as you could throw them. In races of this type I just tend to think my figures will be either right, or wrong. It’s a top three dutch, 20/80 MAID OF MEFT and exotics to my absolute minimum staking. My figures suggest we have the front three on the tissue beaten but laying anything in this would be akin to playing hopscotch on a minefield.

THREE TO DUTCH – CHOSEN ONE, IMPERIAL LEGEND, BRONZE BEAU
20/80 – CHOSEN ONE
EXOTICS – CHOSEN ONE, IMPERIAL LEGEND, BRONZE BEAU

PERCEIVED DRAW BIAS – Low looks an absolute “must have” here. I wouldn’t want high for a big clock and if anything drawn 8, 9 or 10 pops up then like the one above earlier, it’ll be the layers dancing. The three I have selected for my dutch all have a box slot, all have won on the ground so, it’s just a case of the jockeys doing the rest.
ROC DE PRINCE (Catterick 6-40) – 20/80
BET OF THE DAY
I’m afraid I do not see anything I would want to get my hands dirty for today so we’ll give it a miss in this section.
LAY OF THE DAY
Likewise. It’s really a quiet day on the punting front, with the fun beginning again tomorrow.
Have a great day and the very best of luck if you get involved.
