102/1 Exacta, 76/1 CSF and the Dutch landed yesterday!

Bath racecourseIt was proving quite a difficult day right up until the very last rated race yesterday then, the only race in which I felt we had a definite draw bias to work with came up trumps. I like Bath. It’s a track I can read very well and when my numbers are right then we can make profits. Yesterday, they were right.

These were my figures for that 5-10 race….didn’t Ron Hodges do us proud!

BATH 5-20

*THE NAME IS FRANK….+11 – 6th 20/1
*KYLLACHY STORM….+11 – 2ND 10/1

*VOLCANIC DUST….+/-0 – 5th 25/1
*SIR DON….-15

ADVICE – This was another that, on first inspection sent a shudder down my spine. Again less than £2k to the winner but this is much stronger and, I see a definite draw bias to work with. High drawn are what I want….middle not far off them but low are binned. My top rated has everything in his favour but I’m very concerned about the trip….looks on the short side to me. It’s another race I’ll just punt using those October Rules again. My top three has two drawn right where I want them, another drawn middle and all three good to go on good to firm.

RESULT – The first two home in my top three, my concerns regarding the trip being on the short side for my top rated horse proving well founded and with my top four rated horses all finishing in the first six past that winning post, you can imagine I was more than a little delighted.

Today is the first day of the season “proper” for me. I do not take flat racing seriously until April has gone as it is very much the month of the funky result. I have long given up on the jumpers and once Aintree has faded into the distant memory it’s flat ratings tweaking time. It appears, after the successes of the last two days, we can now get to work on beating the layers.
