Hiddon Coin, trained by David O’Meara (left), was the very fist winner enjoyed by 500 Club members last season, when he landed something of a gamble for us all at Redcar on May 21st. The 500 Club members own 1/12th of Hiddon Coin, as he is part of the Three-In-One Syndicate run by David O’Meara and Hambleton Racing and it has proven very much a successful alliance to date.
We had the option of selling our share come the end of the season but Hiddon Coin failed to realise a suitable price and was bought back in. This may prove to be a stroke of good fortune as it gives 500 Club members an all-weather interest for the winter, the plan being to win a few of the small field sprints that are run more often than not at this time of year, before finding a nice claimer to win, which then yields a nice dividend for the members. It is good to have a plan, no?
30/03/13 – Hiddon Coin exceeded all expectations today when he ran third @ 18/1 in a Class 2 Handicap worth £36,000 to the winner. Always to the fore he stuck on really well when passed and for sure, it was only that eighth furlong that stopped him finishing second.
A great run that will have significantly increased his value.
