Now, that was better!
I did nothing differently yesterday and things fell into place. The race I spent a little longer on explaining why I myself was doing what I was doing proved spot on. It’s great when that happens and TROJAN SUN was a lovely 8/1 winner for me. I explained exactly why I was laying the favourite and, she finished sixth. I also indulged in a small lay of UIMHIR A SEACHT, too. I have posted up on Facebook that the mare had to be the worst odds on favourite in history….probably an exaggeration but she was never, in a million years, an odds on shot. That she finished last of the six that finished came as no great shock to me and, we very nearly had an 18/1 top rated winner, too. I did not have a penny on but for sure, a number of you would have done so.
The OF INTEREST section also produced yet more profits, too. LEGACY GOLD wasn’t a bad old spot, winning @ 7/2, the advice to play AS I AM 20/80 also a good piece of advice and only the sensible decision by Nick Scholfield to let TINY TENOR come home in his own time when beaten, cost us third place in the 1-20…4th @ 20/1. That horse will reward that kindness and you can add it to your trackers. I think he’s a steeplechaser waiting to happen.
Those that opted to put that fiver on the McCoy/Henderson treble also collected and you never really had a sweat on. A nice enough 7/2 treble but no, I didn’t get involved.
That’s horse racing for you. Some days you win and, some days you lose. Yesterday we won.
Today we have some cracking good racing. It more than makes up for the rubbish we have been served up since last weekend, that’s for sure.
WARWICK – SOFT
KEMPTON – CHASE COURSE, GOOD TO SOFT, SOFT IN PLACES – HURDLE COURSE, SOFT, GOOD TO SOFT IN PLACES

KAPGA DE CERISY….-12
*TAKE OF SHOC’S….-28
TWO TO DUTCH – GEORGE NYMPTON, EASTLAKE
20/80 – GEORGE NYMPTON, EASTLAKE
EXOTICS – GEORGE NYMPTON, EASTLAKE
LAY – NONE
ADVICE – My top pair have winning form on soft and with my top three also heading the morning tissue, I’m happy with everything about this race.
*DUKE OF MONMOUTH….+21
*WEST END ROCKER….+10
DE LA BECH….-3
KNOCK A HAND….-25
WHAT AN OSCAR….-26
THREE TO DUTCH – DUKE OF MONMOUTH, THE PACKAGE, WEST END ROCKER
20/80 – DUKE OF MONMOUTH, THE PACKAGE
EXOTICS – DUKE OF MONMOUTH, THE PACKAGE, WEST END ROCKER
LAY – NONE
ADVICE – A cracking good race, choc full of steeplechasers going back over hurdles, two of them in my top three rated. If my figures are right and the chaser’s have not had their speed blunted then we could have some fun with this one. I will cover my top pair 20/80 as I just have this feeling we need THE PACKAGE very much onside.
*RIGADIN DE BEAUCHENE….-30
PETE THE FEAT….-32
THREE TO DUTCH – UNIVERSAL SOLDIER, MAJOR MALARKEY, BRADLEY
20/80 – UNIVERSAL SOLDIER
EXOTICS – UNIVERSAL SOLDIER, MAJOR MALARKEY, BRADLEY
LAY – PETE THE FEAT
ADVICE – Had the ground dried out a tad more I would have been happy to have worked with my top three but this soft will be soft and with this trip wholly unknown for all taking part, I only want those having previously won on it working for me. PETE THE FEAT probably needs it slower to help keep the others at bay and two placings on soft from nine previous runs on it i’ll get after him here.
THREE TO DUTCH – CRUCHAIN, MIDNIGHT HAZE, NICEONEFRANKIE
20/80 – CRUCHAIN
EXOTICS – CRUCHAIN, MIDNIGHT HAZE, NICEONEFRANKIE
LAY – BALLY LEGEND
ADVICE – My top rated is trained for this race each season….won it last year, 3rd in 2011….so with everything in his favour a good run looks assured. It is a very competitive event and with the ground in the favour of my three selected they’ll do.
*SON OF FLICKA….-12
LAMB OR COD….-40
THREE TO DUTCH – SECRET EDGE, ARALDUR, LOOSE CHIPS
20/80 – SECRET EDGE, ARALDUR
EXOTICS – SECRET EDGE, ARALDUR, LOOSE CHIPS
LAY – BEAR’S AFFAIR
ADVICE – This race is always a tough nut to crack, even when you think there may be a good thing lurking in there. I am being very pedantic regarding the ground conditions for OSCARA DARA and that’s why I’ve dropped him. If my figures are right and the going is as described then I believe Alan King trains the winner….both suggested 20/80.
*PROPHETE DE GUYE….-19
THREE TO DUTCH – MUSH MIR, GOLDEN CHIEFTAIN, PROPHETE DE GUYE
20/80 – MUSH MIR
EXOTICS – MUSH MIR, GOLDEN CHIEFTAIN, PROPHETE DE GUYE
LAY – NONE
ADVICE – I may well be made to look daft by my second highest rated but having placed on this going previously, he has not yet won on it. I will work with the three highest in my top six, that have done so. Not a race I will be heavily involved in.
*TURN OVER SIVOLA….+4
LOOKS LIKE SLIM….-40
THREE TO DUTCH – STARLUCK, TURN OVER SIVOLA, GENERAL TING
20/80 – STARLUCK
EXOTICS – STARLUCK, TURN OVER SIVOLA, GENERAL TING
LAY – NONE
ADVICE – Should I be suggesting a lay of FORGOTTEN VOICE? Only two runs on the board, both won, so no, I shouldn’t. I simply do not have anything like enough to work with regarding this Henderson shortie and whilst I’ll not have him in my bets, they will be small because of him.
THREE TO DUTCH – HIGHLAND LOVE, SWISS ART, SAM LORD
20/80 – HIGHLAND LOVE
EXOTICS – HIGHLAND LOVE, SWISS ART, SAM LORD
LAY – NONE
ADVICE – Both races here are suggested to low stakes as whilst they are competitive, they strike me as being tricky. I’ll simply work here with the three highest rated horses having previously won on soft.
TWO TO DUTCH – UBALTIQUE, ANNA’S ARCH
20/80 – UBALTIQUE
EXOTICS – UBALTIQUE, ANNA’S ARCH
LAY – NONE
ADVICE – My top pair would appear to have this between them and I will just utilise them for all bets. If I feel the need to go down the tricast route they would be used as bankers with TRYONE HOUSE.
FRANKLINO (Warwick 12-40) – 20/80
REDDY TOBOUGGIE (Warwick 4-05) – straight win
KAYSERSBERG (Kempton 1-30) – 20/80
POOLE MASTER (Wetherby 1-05) – straight win
Have a brilliant day and the very best of luck if you get involved
