Today was very strange in that I only had one handicap to work with, the marathon run over four miles at Exeter, on soft ground. I wouldn’t say I was bullish about the potential for success but I was happy my figures were right. I allowed myself to be persuaded that my second highest rated horse was the one to work with from a single play point of view but that didn’t really matter as my top rated, the JP McManus (pictured) owned, Jonjo O’Neill trained ARBOR SUPREME, given a cracking good ride by Maurice Lineham, plodded on best of the lot to land the dutch @ 16/1.
Plenty of members ignored my ramblings and simply played the top rated…always advised a a positive option. He was though, delving deep into the memory banks when it came to winning a race, his last success coming way back in 2008.
These were my figures for that race….
ARBOR SUPREME….+14 – WON 16/1
THREE TO DUTCH – ARBOR SUPREME, LORD TOMNODDY, OUR ISLAND
20/80 – LORD TOMNODDY
EXOTICS – ARBOR SUPREME, LORD TOMNODDY, OUR ISLAND
LAY – NONE
I’m quite sure we have plenty more like this to come and Post Racing members will enjoy banking further profits during 2013.
