At the end of racing each day I will post up the text from the Newsletter that went out to members having donated in return for my figures. Hopefully to see the kind of success they have enjoyed and opt to take up a package but, if not, may I wish you the best of luck with your punting.

We saw a few days ago that Willie Mullins is the best over there at setting out a horse for a race. He knew he had a very well handicapped horse, set it up to win and it did the job easily. He saddles four here and that kinda muddys the waters and with 30 runners hurtling around the track, luck will be required. My top four are priced up 33/1, 16/1, 14/1 and 33/1....I will dutch them, have a brace of 20/80's ASKTHEMASTER and TAWAAGG, both winners on yierlding in the past and tinker with my exotics. I'll not get heavily involved because, as I say, it's still a bit of a leraning curve.

I am finding, in both these races, that my figures are totally at odds with the tissue and that does have me looking over my shoulder. Inside my top six rated horses I have three having previously won on the going as currently described, ARKLOW GER, DANCING TORNADO and HEAD WAITER. I will happily play them in a dutch, go 20/80 ARKLOW GER and combo exotics but stakes will be kept sensible.

I have a brace of Nicholls horses miles clear and whilst common sense tells me it's AERIAL that looks the one given Walsh is sitting on top but, with POQUELIN a three times CD winner and simply loving this place, I have to dutch them....just thopse two....and go straight win AERIAL. Exotics that pair with TAMARINBLEU lumped in for a couple of tricasts.

Three horse obtain a + figure, all three good to go on good to soft, trip track and distance bang on the money so, they will consitute a dutch, I'll go straight win HINTERLAND and set up my exotics.

ASCENDANT....-20
Again two miles clear and so, I'll dutch them, go straight win CORKAGE, who is in blinding form, track trip and gound perfect and he will be tough to beat. I am wary of BIG EASY, who only has three runs on the board but it will be BOCCIANI for tricast purposes, he having previously won on good to soft previously. we have to hope any frost doesn't alter things to much...and that James Reveley doesn't do a BENNY BE GOOD again. I like "quiet" riders but sometimes it can be overdone slightly.

A great shame HOLD ON JULIO misses this but understandable giving the going. I am of a mind to work with rated horses 1, 2 and 4. AITEEN THIRTYTHREE is a Newbury specialist but, only when the field size is in single figures does he show of his best. It could be I'm seeing ghosts but it could be big field, competitive races, do not suit him and I'll take him out of my bets. I'm also aware Nicky Henderson has to get SHAKALAKABOOMBOOM a few pounds higher in the weights to ensure Grand National participation. My 20/80 will be QIANSHAN LEADER who is improving and a CD winner that will enjoy good to soft but, should a frost have gotten into the ground and turn it in anyway holding, I would have to revisit that bet.
I was very surprised to see OSRIC get such a high figure given his overall profile. He loves going left handed though, winning three and placing four times from 11 runs going that way around. Good to soft is fine but, softer will not inconvenience him....it's just the trip that concerns me....after 2 1/2 miles he'll be wondering why he is still running! Overall a disappointing profile but we'll see what happens....comb exotics the three I'm dutching.
DONCASTER 3-55

Trip, track and going all perfect for my top three and I will play them dutched, go 20/80 DAN BREEN and work up my exotics. Very competitive race this and any of my top six could win....and maybe a acouple outside them but, slave to the numbers that I am, I'll work as suggested.

I will not be getting heavily involved here. Top three all heavy ground winners, which the tissue favourite TESHALI, is not and so, that's my dutch sorted out. I will have my top rated 20/80 asnd set up my exotics but staking will be low.
UTTOXETER 3-15
MASTER D'OR....-10
DESPERATE DEX....-17
RUSSELSTOWN BOY....-27
RUBY BAY....-36
QUE VIVO....-38
SALUT HONORE....-40
My top rated was a lovely 12/1 winner for us yesterday but that was a right old slog and if he turns up, I wont be punting him, despite the fact he won this last term. if he doesn't run it reduces this to five runners and i do not bet in races of less than six so, either way, it's a no bet race for me.

A novice handicap and I thought I would dip my toes in these waters just to see how my figures perform. I generally don't look at these for another week but that's just me being pedantic. My top three mirrors the morning tissue so, I'm probably not far off being right. I will dutch them, have a 20/80 my top one and look at how best to set up my exotics....probably use my top pair as bankers with ROYALE'S CHARTER for third spot in two tricasts/trifectas.

ROYAL CHARM has proven a real disappointment over fences this season and hopefully a return to hurdles proves to be a positive one....it didn't hurt BIG BUCKS, did it.

Connections have said they will run at Haydock as a first preference (currently trading favourite for the big handicap at the Lancashire track) so, with an 8-00am inspection there, is this horse currently parked up at a service station in between the two tracks? As I say, just wondering.
I will be very surprised if the winner is outside my top five here. My own bets will revolve around my top three...dutch, 20/80 ALL FOR FREE and exotics. The trip is a question mark against ALL FOR FREE but he was certainly finishing off his race well last time up and is improving fast.

I will work with my top three again, all happy on good to soft, two of them having won here before and the trip is a complete mystery to all runners. Dutch, 20/80 THE RAINBOW HUNTER and combo exotics.

Another superb race. I have three clear on my figures but I'm still thinking about how best to work this. The trip is a quirky one, 2 miles 5 furlongs not being a regular one for any of these and the going...well, only two of my top six have actually won on it (highlighted) another imponderable. My top rated has yet to win over fences and that's surely a negative. I'm dropping him purely for that reason....might need a little more juice in the ground, too. GENERAL KUTUZOV surely needs more rain, too so, he's also dropped.
AUTUMN SPIRIT has only ever won on good to firm! He will not get that here. However, he did run a good second on good to soft last time up so, perhaps he's good for a place and so, he's in my dutch. I'm going to include the two highlighted in that dutch, too. Young Brendan Powell is worth more than the 5lb he takes off this one's back and if he puts in a clear round, he has to be bang there. he will be my 20/80 and I'll play this same three in my exotics.

Good morning
I just knew Taunton would provide us with profits yesterday. It "felt" good when I was working on those races and we kicked off with a superb 5/1 top rated winner, FOX APPEAL. We all owe young Steven O'Donovan a beer though as twice the horse came close to falling and he sat tight, let the horse regain its composure and he did a fine job. If their is a better ride this week, I look forward to seeing it.
RANJAAN, 7/2, then cruised home to land us the dutch at 3-20. That booked a place in the Triumph Hurdle but my E-book advises of another Nicholls runner I fancy for that race, that is set to run at the end of the month.
My decision making with regards that 2-50 was spot on, too and omitting EXPRESS LEADER from all bets and bringing in LORD CREWE meant I also enjoyed a very nice 19/1 CSF and 13/1 exacta....oh so close to the tricast too, PATSY FINNEGAN finishing 4th @ 16/1.
I was absolutely delighted with how my figures actually performed there and whilst we only secured that 3-20 dutch, it was pleasing for me to see four of my top six rated finish in the first six, including 5th best SALONTYRE, 40/1, finishing 5th!
The "off meetings" at Lingfield and Ludlow produced diddly I'm afraid but the going at Lingfield was awful from what I could see and the market told a story with regards NICEONEFRANKIE, who drifted like the proverbial barge before labouring home in last place.
The racing today looks dodgy. Very heavy ground at Chepstow and low grade stuff at Catterick means caution advised.

RATINGS FOR SATURDAY 14/01/12
Anyone any idea of the Guinness Book of Records entry regarding the number of consecutive successful bets? We are now 23 from 23 on the lay side following the defeat of KEY CUTTER yesterday. Punted from 4/1 > 11/4 on course, it simply couldn't win and finished seventh.
A few e-mailed me asking if I was laying it and I responded in the affirmative. I also posted to that effect on Facebook...without naming the horse, obviously but I know a few of you were very frustrated by Betfair, whose site was down until just after the race.
I also know a few of you have accounts with Betdaq and would suggest that if you do not, you get one.
My grandchildren arrived at 6-15am this morning as Dad is working overtime and Mum is attending a church coffee morning....Pirates of the Can-o-beer (it is apparently easier for a kids tongue to wrap around that than Caribbean), is on behind me, I'm being asked to draw circles and make honey porridge oats...toast....juice....not at all demanding!
