Players will have the option to choose charity to support once they have actually created a stable and enter that stable into a league sponsored by that charity. How to play · People register to play by imputing their contact details into an online form. Once this has been completed, using a valid e-mail address, an e-mail is sent to them containing a registration code which they input into the form. · Once the initial registration form has been completed, players are then asked to create a stable name. Once this has been done they enter the section of the site where they then create their stable, by selecting 15 horses from the pre-set list of 500. · Players are given five free stables within each game. · Players construct their stables by selecting 15 horses from a initial list of 500, each of which has a valuation of between £2.7m and £6.0m. · Players have an imaginary budget of £50m from which they make their 15 selections. · Once completed players enter their “Stable” page where they find all 15 horses in their stables. · When one of their horses races in “real life” players have to move their horse from stable to track. An e-mail is issued each evening at around 9-00pm, which explains that all results from the previous day have been input, that all points have been awarded and whether or not they have any horses running “tomorrow”. If they have, it advises that they move them from stable to track as soon as possible, as points are not awarded to horses not on the track at the off time of the race. · Players have four opportunities to “horse trade” each week. These are free to use and can be used at any time during the month. Horse trades cannot be carried over to the next month. Players have to keep within their £50 million budget when horse trading. · Bonus points are awarded for designated races during the course of both the flat and National Hunt racing seasons. A maximum of 10 of a player’s 15 horses can be placed on the track at any one time. · On the day a horse is due to run the name of the horse turns green and the off time of the race displayed against the name of the horse. At the off time the name of the horse turns red and if transferred to the track at this stage, will not score points should that horse win or place. · In order to aid those players less familiar with horse racing we will have incorporated a pen-portrait for each horse used for competition purposes, so that you know as much as I know about the ability of them. Point scoring The current point scoring system in place is as follows: · 10 points to the winner of any race · 7 points to the runner up of any race · 5 points to the third placed horse in any race · 3 points to the fourth placed horse in any race 2 points will be awarded to horses that run but do not win or place as long as they are on the racetrack at least five minutes before the scheduled off-time of the race. Points based on starting price are awarded as follows: 4/1 to 7/1 = 4 points · 25 bonus points are awarded to the winners of nominated bonus point races during the season. These races will normally be handicaps with more than 16 runners and worth at least £25,000 to the winner. Technical · The game has been coded using Oracle9 for robustness. Development work It is our intention to implement the following improvements to the game in the near future. · Horses will be divided into sections such as Steeplechaser, Hurdler, etc for the National Hunt season and Sprinter, miler, etc for the flat racing season. Players will be required to build their stables in such a way that they have a set number of steeplechasers, hurdlers etc and, once this format has been selected, it cannot be changed during the game and so, when trading out a steeplechaser, it has to be replaced like for like. In essence it will be like selecting a fantasy football team in a 4-4-2 · The introduction of a “Stable Star” which cannot be traded out at any time unless injured and considered out for the rest of the season. · Superior graphics will be implemented, specifically the stable/gameplay areas of the site.
